Job Description

The County Administrative Board works on behalf of the government and ensures that national goals are implemented in the region. Our broad operations encompass environmental, nature, cultural heritage, business, community planning, rural, preparedness, and total defense issues. In dialogue with other actors, we coordinate various interests and promote sustainable development in Gotland.

We have over 150 employees, and our head is Governor Charlotte Petri Gornitzka.

Description

The position is located in the unit for community protection and preparedness.

In the unit, thirteen people work with areas such as crisis preparedness, signal protection, civil defense, security protection, accident prevention, information security, and total defense planning. We work both to develop the authority's own crisis management and war organization, as well as to increase the preparedness of the entire region. The tools we use are planning, collaboration, and coordination with and by the region's actors.

Total defense planning in Gotland is currently in an intensive phase. The County Administrative Board has taken the lead in recent years and put Gotland on the map through the investment made to develop total defense. A crucial part of this work is the authority's internal command capability in crisis and war. We are now looking for someone who can and wants to develop the authority's own capability through planning, collaboration, and training exercises.

Your areas of responsibility include developing the authority's capability by coordinating our staff operations, planning and conducting exercises and training, as well as collaborating with volunteer organizations.

The County Administrative Board has the overall regional geographical responsibility for crisis preparedness and leads the development of civil defense in Gotland County. The unit for community protection and preparedness is tasked with promoting collaboration between actors in society and ensuring that collaboration takes place before, during, and after a serious event to ensure a high level of civil preparedness. The assignment includes continuously analyzing and describing risks and vulnerabilities within both the authority itself and the region. We collaborate with various central, regional, and local actors, such as the Armed Forces, the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency, the Police Authority, and Region Gotland to create a safe and secure society.

Tasks

  • The authority's crisis and war management system with detailed plans.
  • Develop our war organization with volunteers.
  • Conduct training and exercises internally and regionally.
  • Possibly serve as a Duty Officer.
  • Evening or weekend work may be included in the tasks.
  • The content of the work may change over time within the preparedness area as the environment is dynamic.
  • You drive and develop the work together with colleagues.

Qualifications

You have relevant academic education or equivalent competence acquired in another way, preferably within one or more of the unit's areas of operation. Experience from work in areas such as preparedness planning, security protection, information security, planning and conducting exercises or training, or work in a staff organization. You have a good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in both Swedish and English. You have experience working in government or municipal settings. B driver's license.

Meritorious

Education in information security, security protection, or risk management. Experience working in a staff during an event. Experience collaborating with volunteer organizations. Experience in inter-agency collaboration.

Other

As the position is classified, a standard security clearance will be conducted in the event of a potential employment. The position requires you to be a Swedish citizen.

The County Administrative Board has coordination responsibility within both crisis preparedness and total defense in the region. This means that as an employee, you may be part of the crisis management organization and may be assigned to war duties.
