Summer Job for Law Students at the County Administrative Board of Gotland
The County Administrative Board operates on behalf of the government and works to ensure that national goals are implemented in the region. Our broad activities encompass environmental, nature, cultural heritage, business, community planning, rural, preparedness, and total defense issues. In dialogue with other actors, we coordinate various interests and promote sustainable development in Gotland.
We have over 150 employees, and our manager is Governor Charlotte Petri Gornitzka.
Description
We are looking for law students for a temporary position during the summer of 2025.
To be considered, you must have completed at least six semesters of study but should not have finished your education before the summer. You should have good grades from completed parts of your law education. Start date is by agreement. The employment lasts until August 22, 2025, at the latest.
You will be part of the coordination and support unit, which consists of about 25 employees. The unit works with areas such as finance, operational control, procurement, law, HR, communication, registration/archives, and janitorial/reception services. You will staff the legal function during the summer of 2025 and therefore need to be prepared to work during the summer period to cover for ongoing absences during the vacation period.
Responsibilities
You will provide support to the county administrative board's case handlers in several areas, such as environmental, nature, and cultural legislation. You will also work independently on handling your own cases, such as appeals of municipal decisions. Your tasks will also include supporting operations in administrative law, transparency and confidentiality, as well as diary issues. You may have some external contact with other authorities and the public.
The County Administrative Board will ensure that you receive an introduction to the work when you start your employment.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Law student in a law program
- You can communicate clearly and understandably in both spoken and written Swedish.
Meritorious:
- Experience in administrative law, transparency, and confidentiality
- Knowledge/experience in environmental law and planning and building legislation
- Experience in other legal areas within the framework of the county administrative board's operations
- B driver's license
Your personal qualities:
- You have high integrity.
- You are easy to collaborate with, have good judgment, and possess strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- You are meticulous, efficient, and can independently prioritize and take responsibility for your work.
- You have a pedagogical ability and can explain things so that everyone understands.
We place great importance on personal qualities.
Conditions
Security screening with a background check will be conducted according to the Security Protection Act before a decision on employment is made. Swedish citizenship is required for the position.
The office is located at Visborgsallén 4 in Visby. There is an opportunity for remote work up to 49% of the working time.
