Would you like to work with engaged colleagues in an interesting workplace with good benefits and working conditions? The Campus Library in Gotland is now looking for several students who want to work at the Almedalen Library in Visby.

Job Responsibilities

As a student assistant at Uppsala University Library, you will help students find relevant sources for their studies to relieve the research and teaching staff.

Your main tasks will involve working at the information desk at the Almedalen Library. There, you will meet both students, researchers, and the public. You will be the face of the library and the university, assisting users with loans and information searches.

Administrative tasks such as book shelving and other library-related duties are also included. Opening and closing the libraries may occur. The work is mobile, and heavy lifting may be required.

Your working hours will be adapted to the library's opening hours.

Qualifications

• Be an active student at a Swedish university or college with at least 50%
• Have experience in service work involving contact with users or customers
• Have good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written

We place great importance on personal suitability. We are looking for someone who is service-oriented, enjoys meeting people, and focuses on the user. You are responsible, meticulous, and structured. You have good collaboration skills while also being able to take initiative independently.

Desirable/meritorious

• Studying library and information science
• Previous experience in library work

About the Employment

The position is temporary according to HF 5 chap § 12. You will be employed for each individual assignment and receive financial compensation per hour. The scope is approximately 10-30%. Start date by agreement. Location: Visby
