The IT department of the municipal management office is a central unit responsible for the entire IT environment of Uppsala municipality. We work strategically, govern, and provide support, being close to the operations and helping to identify IT-related needs early on.

We are now looking for a new colleague for the unit for digital solutions in education and culture. We work closely with the municipality's core operations and take pride in contributing to important societal functions.

Our office is located in the municipality's new city hall, right next to the travel center in Uppsala. We work in an activity-based manner with the possibility of working partially remotely.

Your Mission

As an IT system administrator, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing IT-related issues regarding the systems.
  • Providing support to users within the organization.
  • Collaborating with external and internal suppliers.
  • Leading smaller IT-related change projects within your area.
  • Performing ongoing IT security work, system maintenance, and ensuring that IT systems maintain good technical quality.
  • Defining requirements and managing integrations with other IT systems.
  • Managing releases, upgrades, and decommissioning of IT systems.
  • Testing and deploying new modules/features in IT systems.
  • Writing and managing technical documentation for IT systems.
  • Assigning permissions and conducting permission audits.
  • Handling incidents and performing technical troubleshooting in IT systems, including related to permissions.
  • Managing interruption handling and escalations to suppliers.
  • Participating in IT procurements by defining IT requirements.
  • Participating in the further development of new functionality in collaboration with business representatives and suppliers.
  • Collaborating with other system administration groups and specialists within the IT department.
  • Monitoring new digital opportunities.
  • Identifying application areas for new technologies.

Your Background

We are looking for someone with an academic degree in IT at the university level or relevant vocational training in IT. We expect you to have experience working in IT projects and current experience in an IT-related field, such as system administration, computer science, information technology, IT security, or data science. Experience in procurement, project management, and requirements management is considered an advantage. The job requires you to have very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. It is a plus if you have competence in agile working methods.

As a person, you are analytical and good at seeing connections and solving complex questions and problems. You take initiative and start activities to achieve results. Furthermore, you are flexible and can see opportunities in changes. The job suits you if you are communicative and have good collaboration skills, relating to others in a responsive and smooth manner. Last but not least, you are good at structuring, planning, and prioritizing your work.
