Your Responsibilities

The Prosecution Authority is looking for someone who wants a central role in crime fighting. As a prosecutor, you will apply legal practices in theory and practice with significant personal responsibility and in collaboration with others.

As an extra prosecutor, you will work with all aspects of ongoing criminal cases at a public prosecutor's office. You will lead preliminary investigations, make decisions regarding prosecution, and represent cases in court.

Your Qualities and Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

Swedish citizenship
Nordic law degree
Notary qualification from district or administrative court
Experience from other qualified legal work for at least two years after your notary service, primarily in criminal cases. This mainly refers to work as a court assessor, lawyer, or other legal experience in criminal law.

As a person, we want you to:

have a strong interest in criminal and procedural law
be legally skilled
have the ability to collaborate and lead others
be driven, able to organize and prioritize your work, and make independent decisions
be stable and have good judgment
have good analytical skills and the ability for critical thinking
have good communication skills.

Admission Process

The position as an extra prosecutor is a special fixed-term employment or a qualifying employment of at least twelve months, before you can obtain a waiver to become permanently employed as a chamber prosecutor.

Tests may occur in the recruitment process.

If the applicant who receives the assignment holds a position at the Economic Crime Authority or within Sweden's courts, collective agreement fixed-term employment (so-called qualifying employment) applies.

The Prosecution Authority is a preparedness authority. Upon employment, you may be placed in a war position at the Prosecution Authority. Read more under Work with us.
