Exercise Coordinator at the Swedish Post and Telecom Authority

Do you want to contribute to strengthening Sweden's preparedness through training and exercises? As an exercise coordinator at the Swedish Post and Telecom Authority, you will play a key role in developing and conducting exercises that enhance society's resilience and ability to manage crises. Here, you make a difference for Sweden's security – every day.

About the Unit

The need for secure and robust communication has never been greater. To strengthen Sweden's digital resilience, PTS is undertaking a strategic initiative where the Department of Secure Communication is divided into two new departments: Preparedness and Security Protection and Cybersecurity.

The new Preparedness Department will have a central role in developing and strengthening Sweden's ability to manage crises and ensure that society can maintain essential functions even under stress. The department works both nationally and internationally with total defense planning, preparedness measures, and crisis management to protect and strengthen Sweden's electronic communication and postal services. Through this initiative, PTS is enhancing its preparedness capacity to better meet society's needs.

The Capability Planning Unit belongs to the Preparedness and Security Protection Department and is responsible for developing and coordinating PTS's work within total defense. We work long-term with planning and directing the authority's preparedness work, including training and exercises.

I will be your manager, Rita Hammarstedt. As a leader, I am unpretentious and value collaboration, trust, and a strong team. I believe in adapting tasks to employees' strengths and see dialogue as a key to a successful work environment.

About the Role

As an exercise coordinator, you will be responsible for leading and developing PTS's work with training and exercises in the preparedness area. You will play a central role in ensuring that PTS and the preparedness sector continuously develop their ability to manage crises through well-planned and relevant exercises.

You will work strategically and long-term to identify needs for exercises and training, and you will lead the planning and implementation of these in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Part of your assignment is to coordinate PTS's participation in national and international exercises and, when necessary, procure and contract consultancy support. You will also be responsible for evaluating conducted exercises and feeding back lessons learned to the organization to ensure continuous development.

In this role, you will have many points of contact and collaborate both internally within PTS and externally with other authorities, organizations, and stakeholders such as MSB, the Cybersecurity Center, sector-responsible authorities, and the Armed Forces. Your work therefore requires a good ability to build relationships and lead processes involving multiple parties.

About You

You are a collaborative and unpretentious person with ease in creating good relationships. You see the big picture, prioritize correctly, and drive work forward even under pressure. With stability and structure, you handle challenges calmly and solution-focused. You take responsibility, coordinate multiple needs simultaneously, and ensure effective results. Your analytical approach allows you to see connections in complex information. You are self-driven, take initiative even without clear guidelines, and handle uncertainties with confidence and engagement in exercise activities and training. For us, your personal qualities are important, and we will place great emphasis on these.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Relevant academic education or other training and work experience that we consider equivalent
  • Several years of relevant work experience in exercise activities within the area of crisis preparedness, civil or military defense
  • Several years of relevant work experience in a leading role in projects or other activities
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish and English
  • Current and relevant knowledge of the Swedish preparedness system and its regulations

It is meritorious if you have:

  • Experience in leading, coordinating, and planning both small internal exercises and large joint exercises
  • Experience using exercises as a tool for long-term capability development and follow-up
  • Experience evaluating exercises
  • Experience in developing and/or conducting training
  • Experience working with stakeholders in the electronic communications and postal sector

Our Offer

With us, you can have a life both at work and outside of it. We offer competitive salaries, flexible working hours, and the possibility of remote work. We also have a generous wellness allowance and two wellness hours each week. Additionally, you will receive favorable conditions for lunch, vacation, parental leave, pension, and in case of illness. Here, you will work in modern activity-based premises at Hälsingegatan 38, with a secure and stable work environment that the state offers.

We are creating tomorrow's society and are always at the forefront. With us, you will grow with your tasks.
