The purpose of the operational support is to assist the university's education and research. KTH's operational support is in an exciting phase where we work together to develop our working methods. The Communications Department consists of four groups with associated group leaders. We are about 55 employees responsible for educational communication, research communication, internal and management communication, crisis communication, alumni relations, branding, editorial work, press functions, digital development, system management, and events. The position of management communicator is placed in the Management Communication and Press group with 12 employees.

We work to strengthen the operational support, achieve improved management and governance, enhance common working methods and culture, and strengthen and make KTH visible for increased competitiveness.

Job Responsibilities

Your task is to provide communication support and advice on communication issues to KTH's rector and other management in collaboration with another management communicator. You handle media contacts and provide support in press issues, monitor the external environment, write opinion articles, and prepare materials and presentations. You work with communication related to meetings and events and project manage certain activities. You are responsible for management support in KTH's organization for crisis communication. Work outside office hours may occur.

In collaboration with other communicators throughout the organization, you assist in communicating the management's work internally and externally to different target groups, for example through news articles, images, blogs, and social media. The role involves many contact and collaboration areas both within and outside the organization and requires a good understanding of decision-making processes and planning work.

Qualifications

Requirements

• Education in media and communication science or journalism, or other education that the employer deems relevant based on the job description.
• Experience of similar tasks in a larger, complex organization
• Experience in press work
• Experience in crisis communication
• Very good knowledge of Swedish and English as it is used in daily work
• Ability to create and build relationships

Meritorious

• Experience of similar work in a government agency, preferably within the university and higher education sector
• Experience working with content production including film.
• Experience in project management
