Do you thrive in varied and interesting tasks that require your ability to combine expertise with an understanding of the whole? We are now looking for an officer responsible for issues in the area of family care and children's rights for the Unit for Social Services and Disability Policy.
Your workday. Sweden's tomorrow.
The unit works with social service issues within individual and family care as well as care for the elderly and people with disabilities. The unit is responsible for coordinating children's rights policy, disability policy, and certain social insurance benefits. For the current position, the focus is primarily on working with issues related to support and protection for children and adults in vulnerable situations. This can include domestic violence, sheltered housing, violence against children, homelessness, and substance abuse.
The tasks are varied and include everything from drafting proposals for bills, government assignments, committee directives, analyzing and compiling materials for the government's positions within the unit's areas of responsibility, to ongoing inquiries such as questions and interpellations from the parliament and coordination of cross-unit processes. You may represent Sweden in various international processes and contexts. However, the area and tasks may change over time.
Your background
We are looking for someone with a relevant completed academic education and experience of working within the Government Offices. You need to have experience working at a strategic level with issues concerning support and protection for children or adults in vulnerable situations, as well as good knowledge of social services. We would like you to have experience working with issues related to domestic violence, sheltered housing, victim issues, violence against children, honor-related violence, and oppression. Experience with issues regarding homelessness, substance abuse, and dependency is an advantage. Furthermore, you have a good understanding of the demands of working and the conditions in a politically governed organization. You have excellent skills in oral and written communication in both Swedish and English.
Your qualities
You should have a very good ability to independently plan, coordinate, and drive processes and be able to take your own initiatives. You should be able to work under pressure, be resilient, and handle various types of tasks simultaneously. You should be quality-conscious, structured, flexible, and have good judgment. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
Other
Fixed-term employment for one year with a start date in September 2025. A security clearance will be conducted before a hiring decision is made.
