Business Controller at the Swedish Food Agency
Do you want to take on a central role in driving and being responsible for the Swedish Food Agency's operational planning and follow-up, contributing to safe food and sustainable food consumption? Are you interested in how statistics and follow-up can improve operations? We are looking for someone with experience as a business controller who wants to help develop our governance, planning, and follow-up.
Your Role
As a business controller in the director general's office, you will work from a cross-agency perspective and be responsible for planning and following up the agency's operations together with your colleagues. Your role is to support the director general, agency management, and other key functions in strategic governance. In your assignment, you will focus on creating, developing, and driving various processes for the agency's governance. You will closely collaborate with various support and management functions.
A key part of your responsibilities is to develop goal and result management, analyze and follow up on operations, and write documentation and reports. You will prepare and present various types of cases for the agency management. Since your work touches many parts of the agency, collaboration and cooperation are crucial in your role and a prerequisite for succeeding in the assignment.
Your Responsibilities Include
- Leading, coordinating, and developing processes such as operational planning, quarterly follow-ups, and annual reports
- Developing the follow-up of indicators, key figures, and decision-making documentation, particularly within the agency's prioritized areas of focus
- Leading and coordinating various networks to develop the operations
- Creating conditions for the follow-up, reporting, and decision-making of operations
- Administering, supporting, and developing work methods in our support tool Stratsys for operational planning and follow-up
Together with your colleagues, you will take responsibility for the agency's common assignments and resources as well as the needs of target groups. Furthermore, you will make thoughtful prioritizations in your work and deliver according to set goals. You will monitor the external environment to gather new perspectives, maintain relevant competence, and adapt your work to the agency's requirements and conditions.
Director General's Office
The office provides strategic and administrative support to the director general and agency management. The office is responsible for supporting the agency with operational planning and follow-up and contributing to the agency achieving results and set goals. On behalf of the director general, the office will lead and support strategic change and development work within sustainability, innovation, and facilitating for businesses. The annual report, budget documentation, and the government assignments assigned to the Swedish Food Agency are coordinated by the office. The office's work should contribute to high efficiency, quality, and results for the agency. The office consists of the head of the office, the director general's secretary, operational coordinators, business developers, and business controllers.
Your Competence
We are looking for someone with an academic degree in, for example, political science, economics, or another area deemed relevant by the employer. You must have current and several years of experience in a similar role focusing on operational governance, analysis, and overall management support. We want you to have experience working in public administration, and it is an advantage if you have experience with state governance. You have good experience in developing and managing follow-up models in complex organizations. To be successful in the job, you need to be accustomed to working in digital systems for operational governance. You must have very good language skills in Swedish and good knowledge of English in both speech and writing.
