Unit Description

32nd Intelligence Battalion is Sweden's only unit of its kind and specializes in gathering, compiling, and analyzing information about the adversary. The Intelligence Battalion is characterized by its ability to collect information using a wide array of sensors and processing and analyzing the gathered information.

The information becomes intelligence that can be used for operational, tactical, and combat technical decisions, but also in time-critical operations such as targeting individual objectives by directing artillery and air support. The unit has the capability to move on foot, with terrain vehicles, boats, helicopters, or parachute in and can operate over large areas and distances as well as deep within enemy-controlled territory. The battalion includes capabilities for troop reconnaissance with remote reconnaissance soldiers, remotely piloted aircraft systems (UAVs), paratroopers, and units for gathering information in contact with human sources, as well as important staff functions and medical, command, and logistics units.

Main Duties

As a medic or team leader with us, you are part of a unique medical unit consisting of continuously employed soldiers as well as periodically serving soldiers, specialist nurses, and specialist doctors. The unit has the capability to support all parts of the battalion with qualified trauma care and life-saving surgery.

As a soldier with us, your duties will be very varied; for example, you will conduct training to deepen your medical skills, participate in the development of the medical platoon, be responsible for the group's equipment, and contribute as an instructor during training. Here, you will occasionally find yourself in situations where you need to work outside your comfort zone with limited resources and under stressful conditions.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Approved military basic training (minimum grade JA 2-2)
  • Driving license B (manual transmission)
  • Physical tests FM FysS additional test KPK3 level 3
  • Supplementary tests for the position
  • Job interview - Security clearance

You are responsible and organize and plan your work well. You are positive, find solutions to problems, and can improvise in unexpected situations.

As a medic, you will come into contact with the injured and wounded, therefore it is of utmost importance that you have the ability to meet people in vulnerable situations in an understanding and empathetic manner. You should be able to act under emotional, physical, and psychological stress. You should share the Armed Forces' values, the code of conduct, and represent the Armed Forces' activities in your professional role.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

The Life Regiment Hussars, K 3, has fast and effective units and a long experience in the intelligence field. K 3 trains a ranger battalion and an intelligence battalion. The ranger battalion is a unit with high mobility that should be able to be the first on site during an operation. The intelligence battalion delivers intelligence by using advanced technology, personnel on the ground, and unmanned aerial vehicles (RPAS).

At K 3, there is also the Armed Forces' survival school and the Aviation Unit responsible for remotely piloted aircraft systems and military parachuting. Here are also the support functions of the Garrison Unit and the Logistics Unit. Please read more on this page.
