Planning Officer for the Hospital Battalion

Defense Medicine Center

The Defense Medicine Center is the Swedish Armed Forces' center for the function of defense medicine, located in Gothenburg. Our mission is to provide the Armed Forces with qualified personnel in health and medical care, and additionally, the mission involves the development and supply of medical materials and pharmaceuticals. The Hospital Battalion acts as the Armed Forces' operational field hospital unit with operational capability both nationally and internationally, emphasizing command, logistics, and medical care. Furthermore, the unit conducts conscription training. The personnel categories present in the unit include medical personnel, officers, soldiers, and conscripts.

Main Responsibilities

As a planning officer at the Hospital Battalion, you will play a central role in developing and directing the battalion's activities in the short and long term. You will work both independently and in a team, as well as lead and coordinate the planning work within the battalion. The position also includes driving projects and collaborating with various stakeholders.

Examples of common tasks:

  • Develop and implement planning processes within the battalion.
  • Support mission planning and business development in the short and long term.
  • Plan and coordinate the battalion's resources against assigned tasks.
  • Act as project manager for various operational areas.
  • Analyze and process information to support decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Completed and approved officer training or reserve officer training.
  • Experience in staff service and planning work.
  • Good communication skills in both spoken and written Swedish and English.

Personal Attributes

We are looking for someone who is analytical, structured, and has good problem-solving skills. You are proactive, can work independently, and have the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Furthermore, you are communicative and have an easy time collaborating with others, both internally and with external stakeholders. Your ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing conditions is crucial for success in the role.

Meritorious

  • Experience in operations or business planning at the battalion level or higher.
  • Completed staff course.
  • Experience in international service.
  • Civil education or experience in planning, management, logistics, healthcare, or personnel services.

  • Employment type: Permanent
  • Level: At least appointed OF 2 or equivalent.
  • Employment degree: Full-time. Travel and evening/weekend work may occur in the position.
  • Work location: Gothenburg
  • Start date: By agreement.
  • Salary: Individual salary setting.
  • The employment entails a war placement at the Hospital Battalion.
