About the Unit
The Swedish Armed Forces Parachute School FMFS, also known as the Special Forces Parachute School SFS, is a unit within the Armed Forces' special forces system (FMSF) located in Karlsborg. The main task of the parachute school is parachute operations and is responsible for all parachute services within the Armed Forces. FMFS is a relatively small unit filled with specialist competence in all areas of parachute operations. FMFS trains, develops, and maintains the parachute capability of all airborne units and the ability for air supply, both nationally and internationally.
Like other units within FMSF, FMFS has high demands for availability, readiness, and operational safety. This places specific requirements on equipment, training, and competence and requires high availability and a specific personal profile of the staff at the unit.
Main Responsibilities
The position of Jump Master can be divided into two roles, jump master and parachute instructor. As a Jump Master, you will be involved in planning and executing operational activities, both nationally and internationally, by preparing the equipment and/or personnel to be dropped and participating in flights and drops. As a parachute instructor, you will be involved in the training of airborne units and schools. You will work closely with units within the Armed Forces' special forces system (FMSF), the Army, and the Air Force, as well as with international counterparts.
You may be on high alert and travel both domestically and internationally is extensive. Working hours outside of office hours may occur.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Completed military service/basic military training with approved results
- Driver's license B (manual transmission)
- Good knowledge of expressing oneself in speech and writing in Swedish and English
- High school diploma

Employment form: Permanent employment that may begin with a 6-month probationary period, military position. Alternatively, a fixed-term employment supported by the “Agreement on fixed-term employment with continuous service for group leaders, soldiers, and sailors within the Armed Forces”.
Employment rate: Full-time
Work location: Karlsborg
Start date: January 2026 or by agreement.
