Job Advertisement: Officer at 31st Ranger Battalion
The 31st Ranger Battalion is a light conventional ranger unit tasked with supporting the Swedish Armed Forces' special forces. The battalion is a standing unit with high availability and is trained for operations with short preparation times. The unit carries out tasks across the entire conflict spectrum, both within Sweden's borders and in other parts of the world. As a professional officer in the battalion, you must be prepared to undertake international service as this is a natural part of our operations.
The defining profile of the battalion is primarily the ability to conduct rapid movements and foot combat with carried weapon systems. The battalion is well-trained and has developed methods to solve these tasks in conjunction with helicopter and transport aviation units.
The battalion operates in task-adapted combat groups over large areas and often in a different direction than other units, which places high demands on the personnel's physical and mental capabilities. This further imposes significant requirements on individual soldier skills and the ability to prioritize the mission and the group over personal needs. In addition to soldier skills, good teamwork, initiative, and high stress tolerance are prerequisites for the officer to operate effectively with the group in all situations.
Main Duties
The officer's tasks in the battalion can range from high-intensity combat to supply logistics, maintaining the battalion's command resources, and staff duties. The battalion's units operate independently for shorter periods, which places high demands on understanding the task and initiative at all command levels. All officer positions in the battalion require high physical performance, teamwork, and the willingness to act in the situations presented.
Available Positions in the Battalion
Depending on the competencies and experiences of the applicant, the battalion can offer a wide range of positions at the battalion, squadron, and platoon levels. For more information about available and current positions, please contact: K3-31bat-rekrytering@mil.se
