Parental Support and Youth Support are Hiring

Parental Support and Youth Support are now looking for an engaged employee for a temporary position during the autumn of 2025, where the role may be combined between both operations. As a parental advisor/youth counselor, you are a valuable community builder in the future Skellefteå.

The Social Office is the municipality's largest administration. One of the departments within the administration is Individual and Family Care (IFO), which works with support for children, youth, and their families. IFO is divided into three operational branches: Child and Youth Investigation, Adult Investigation and Execution, and Child and Youth Execution.

Within the operational branch for Child and Youth Execution, there is the Preventive Unit, which consists of Field Operations, Parental Support, and Youth Support, as well as Family Counseling, Family Centers, and the Center Against Violence.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In your role at Parental Support, you work together with parents to find common solutions that strengthen both their parenting skills and their relationship with the child, benefiting the child's development. At Youth Support, you provide advice and support conversations to youth and young adults, offering individually tailored support based on the young person's own needs.

In the work at Parental Support and Youth Support, in addition to holding individual conversations, collaboration with both internal and external partners is included. In this role, you will also have the opportunity to lead both parent groups and/or youth groups and participate in the promotional and preventive work on a broad front. We also want you to contribute to the continued development of preventive work in Skellefteå municipality. Some evening work may occur.

QUALIFICATIONS

You are a trained social worker or have another education or experience deemed equivalent. We want you to have experience in conversing with and guiding parents and/or youth/young adults, and it is an advantage if you have experience leading groups. It is important that you can work independently as well as collaboratively and have the ability to prioritize your work and drive development. You should feel secure in your professional role, handle situations professionally, and have the ability to create trusting relationships. Basic computer skills and a B driver's license are required for the position.

The employees of the Social Office provide care, support, and assistance to people throughout Skellefteå. They may be elderly, people with physical or mental disabilities, or individuals and families in need of special support for a period.

Our operations are located throughout the municipality, and we have specialists in several areas within care, support, nutrition, and activation for people with disabilities, addiction treatment, family counseling, and much more. With empathy, knowledge, and commitment, the Social Office contributes to creating a Skellefteå where everyone has a place.
