The Psychiatric Clinic at Norrland University Hospital in Umeå is the largest psychiatric clinic in Norrland with over 400 employees. We have three general psychiatric wards, forensic psychiatric services, and several specialized outpatient and treatment units. The Psychiatric Clinic works for equitable care for all and nursing based on research and clinical experience. The Psychiatric Clinic is located in a newly built building where the care environment is characterized by the importance of the care environment for promoting health. The living and working environment is supported by modern technology and research, which will be noticeable in lighting and communication systems. The clinic is climate-smart through self-sufficiency in electricity and heating.
We are now looking for treatment assistants.
The forensic psychiatry unit is a secure inpatient ward classified as level 2, an outpatient clinic, and an examination unit. The forensic psychiatric ward currently has 17 beds, but there is ongoing work to expand to 20 beds. The forensic psychiatric ward primarily receives individuals sentenced to forensic psychiatric care, as well as clients from the Swedish Prison and Probation Service who need psychiatric care/assessment and patients from other psychiatric services who require care in a higher security class. The aim of the care is to reduce recidivism by improving mental health and developing individual and stable support functions for patients to reintegrate into society.
Within forensic psychiatry, we work with a long-term strategy to ensure competence supply and to develop and quality assure the care and treatment content in the operation. Our focus is on the patient's opportunity for processing and growth.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
You find it enjoyable and developing to work with people and contribute to both taking good care of others and working to help people feel better.
Your tasks will include having individual conversations with patients and group activities, participating in daily work such as spending time with and activating patients on the ward. You will work according to the ward's safety routines and provide support and supervision during outdoor activities. Basic tasks include handling food, cleaning, and inventory. If coercive measures are necessary, you will participate in this, which means being prepared for potential physical interventions. Document in the journal system.
The care is adapted to the patient's functional level and difficulties. With us, you will have a job that is developing, interesting, sometimes challenging, but together in the team we meet the challenges. You enjoy the variety of workdays and have the ability to work at a changing pace and like to learn new things.
We also see that you are interested in contributing your knowledge to develop the operations within the clinic.
QUALIFICATIONS
You have education as a treatment assistant/treatment educator or other education/experience that the employer assesses as equivalent.
A large part of the patient-facing work consists of relationship building, as the stay times are usually long and patients may need several different interventions.
Important qualities you possess are curiosity, perseverance, and good collaboration skills. You have the ability to plan, lead, and follow up both individually and at the group level in patient work. You enjoy taking responsibility and do not mind working independently as well.
We also see that you are interested in contributing your knowledge in the work to develop the operations within the clinic.
