Treatment Assistant at Bryggan in Umeå
The Individual and Family Care in Umeå Municipality aims to be a resource that liberates and strengthens people's ability to live an independent life.
Bryggan is a support accommodation for men over 20 years old with alcohol and/or drug problems.
We are a 24/7 operation that combines outpatient care or employment. There is an ambition in Bryggan's structure to use environmental therapeutic strategies. This means that participants either learn or regain social and practical skills through daily activities and household chores together with staff and other residents.
The focus of client work is the individual's goals, where dependency is the central issue. Mental health issues are a common aspect among our clients.
Your Responsibilities
As a treatment assistant with us, we work with the individual in focus and support them towards an independent life based on an agreed individual plan. You help the client create a structure that can lead to an autonomous life after their time at Bryggan. All planning is done together with the client and individuals from other relevant support functions. Collaboration with internal functions within the municipality as well as external actors is a central part of the work.
The work also consists of documentation and motivational work through, for example, individual conversations based on MI (motivational interviewing). The role also includes having individual conversations about harmful use and dependency issues. The operation is characterized by flexible solutions where clients' needs and current situations are the starting point.
Housekeeping and cooking are also included in the tasks. Working hours are scheduled for day, evening, weekend, and night shifts; on-call according to local agreement.
About You
We are looking for someone who is a trained social worker, social pedagogue, or has another equivalent post-secondary education deemed relevant by the employer. It is advantageous if you have training in motivational interviewing (MI) and/or coaching education, as well as independent living ESL.
We would like you to have experience working with people in the area of harmful use and dependency issues as well as mental health issues. You have previous experience working with individuals in change and the knowledge to conduct conversations about dependency and mental health issues through, for example, MI, ESL, and ADL.
The work as a treatment assistant is multifaceted and requires good collaboration skills, so you should be flexible and focused on supporting change together with the client.
We are looking for someone who is attentive and has the ability to understand your role as well as the roles/tasks of others within collaboration and can work towards jointly set goals. You have good self-awareness and are secure in yourself. You have the ability to build trust, be empathetic, and see opportunities.
You need to have a genuine interest in working with the target group. Great importance will be placed on personal suitability and previous experience working with the target group.
To ensure that the individuals called for an interview are the best match for what we are looking for, we use selection questions. The selection questions are based on the requirements and qualifications set for the position, and you will answer the questions in connection with your application. It is therefore important that you answer the selection questions and do not refer to your CV/cover letter.
NOTE! Do you have protected personal information? Please contact Recruitment Support at 090-16 10 99 or at rekrytering@umea.se, and they will assist you with a secure application process.
Interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis. We warmly welcome your application!
