As a priest in Nordmaling, you will work in a parish where there is room to grow, parishioners who welcome you into their hearts, and coastal northern Swedish nature at its best.

Now we have our new vicar Karin in place, and it is time to complete the team with the final piece – a curious and engaged assistant priest.

In Nordmaling, you will be part of a context and a community that you rarely find in a larger town. As a priest, you are recognized and have an important role in the local community – many times you have the privilege of meeting the same families through all of life's events. Here, you will also find the sea, forests, and rushing rivers along with a vibrant countryside – more than half of the residents live outside the central area, and the parish has both churches and activities in several of the villages. At the same time, it is quick to travel to or from our larger neighbors Umeå and Örnsköldsvik.

The parish of Nordmaling is characterized by ecumenism and close cooperation with the many EFS groups and other churches in the area. It is also evident that we have a good collaboration with the municipality and schools. The parish also has a rich musical life, and our musicians move freely between hymns, pop, baroque, jazz, and rock.

In addition to the vicar, you will have another priest colleague (Elisabet is a rock!) and a wonderful team that enjoys working together. This is evident both in the break room and in how we approach our tasks – in Nordmaling, we help each other.

We are now looking for you who flourishes in meeting people – whether it involves worship visitors, grieving families, or parents and children in the open preschool. For you, relationships are more important than the form as long as it opens doors to heaven. You long for more people to discover the church and have both the will and ideas to meet people in new ways.
