Treatment Assistant for Forensic Psychiatric Inpatient Care

Within the health and medical care administration, primary care, dental care, and hospital care are gathered in a common administration and organized into regional and local healthcare areas. In the local healthcare area of Skellefteå, the Emergency Department, Medical and Geriatric Clinic, Rehabilitation Center, Psychiatric Clinic, 1177, and primary care in Skellefteå and Norsjö are included. Together, these aim to provide good and close care.

The Psychiatric Clinic, which consists of approximately 240 employees, provides both outpatient and inpatient care. The outpatient care includes an Emergency and Assessment Unit, which includes eating disorder services, two adult clinics targeting individuals aged 26 and above, the Young Adults clinic targeting individuals aged 18-25, as well as a medical unit, MBT team, elderly team, and specialist psychiatric nursing team (SPOT). The inpatient care consists of two acute psychiatric wards and a dependency ward with an associated detoxification unit. Within dependency care, there is also an outpatient clinic, LARO clinic, and a dual diagnosis team.

We are now expanding our operations with two brand new forensic psychiatric inpatient places. The patients we will care for are sentenced to forensic psychiatric care but are close to discharge, as it is important to have the opportunity to return to a meaningful context in society. Therefore, we are looking for treatment assistants who want to work in inpatient care with varied tasks. This will also include working with community rehabilitation efforts. Your commitment is important and will make a difference. You will have the opportunity to shape new routines and working methods so that we can meet the patient group in the best way. The forensic psychiatric places will be integrated into our regular inpatient wards. Therefore, those who start with us will work both with our other patient groups and with the forensic psychiatric efforts.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As inpatient care staff with us, you contribute knowledge and engagement that makes people feel safe.

We are now looking for a treatment assistant for inpatient care who can also work with community rehabilitation, related to a forensic psychiatric assignment.

The tasks will consist of both varied care duties within your professional area and specific efforts towards the forensic psychiatric inpatient places.

As care staff with us, you have a broad nursing perspective with the patient at the center. You will work closely with other staff within the unit, relatives, and care neighbors.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have training as a treatment assistant/treatment educator or other training/experience that the employer assesses as equivalent.

A large part of the patient-facing work consists of relationship building, as the lengths of stay are usually long and patients may need several different interventions.

Important qualities you possess are curiosity, perseverance, and good collaboration skills. You have the ability to plan, lead, and follow up both individually and at the group level in patient work. You enjoy taking responsibility and do not mind working independently as well.
