Prolympia Östersund is an independent primary school focused on sports and health, operating in the Norr district in central Östersund. The school started its operations in 2004 and currently has 466 students and 55 employees. Here, students receive a safe school experience with a focus on sports, health, and outdoor activities. This means they have more sports and health in their schedule, as well as more outdoor days with overnight stays than in a traditional school.

About You

Prolympia in Östersund is now looking for a Leisure Educator/Teacher for After School Care.

Working in After School Care is an important mission, and to provide our students with the best possible conditions for development, we are looking for the right people for our after school care!

We want every child, based on their circumstances, to grow and develop into an independent individual at their own pace.

We are looking for someone who is a teacher for after school care or a leisure educator. You are a driven person with a positive attitude who shares our values and fundamental views on sports and outdoor activities as tools to create good health and strong academic results. You also have good communication skills, are clear in your leadership, and find it easy to collaborate. In your daily work, you have the ability to create trusting relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. You will teach in after school care and collaborate with the school during the school day. As a teacher in after school care/leisure educator with us, you will plan, drive, develop, and evaluate the educational activities in after school care.

Job Responsibilities

As a Teacher in After School Care/Leisure Educator, you are responsible for working with colleagues in the After School Team to create good conditions for learning through inspiring and educational teaching throughout the students' entire day. Together, you will create an after school care that stimulates recovery, creativity, and movement in accordance with the curriculum goals for after school care. Planning, documentation, and follow-up are essential parts of your job responsibilities. We value a collegial working method throughout the school where the focus is on creating conditions for all students to succeed in school and after school care based on their circumstances. As a teacher in after school care, you will have close collaboration with the teachers and work together on the education of the students throughout the day. You should be able to plan, teach, lead, and be responsible for the educational activities in both smaller and larger student groups. With us, you will be involved in developing inclusive learning environments and a formative working method that engages students and creates their own drive.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has a teaching license with qualifications for teaching in after school care. Experience in after school care or similar activities is an advantage. As a person, you are attentive, solution-oriented, and focused on development. You take initiative, are creative, and have good collaboration skills, easily building relationships and working with other colleagues, and can create good relationships with students and guardians. You are well acquainted with the school's governing documents and other applicable regulations. You have a good ability to express yourself in both spoken and written Swedish. Furthermore, you have the digital competence required for educational work and documentation. If you have a teaching license, please attach it.

We see that you have good knowledge of the school's mission and previous experience in educational work. Great importance will also be placed on personal suitability.

The position is full-time/part-time with a 6-month probationary period. For employment, a criminal record extract related to work in schools and preschools is required, and it must be less than a year old.
