The Finance Unit is one of three units within the Finance Department. In the Finance Unit, we are a close team consisting of a budget manager and 12 economists. The position involves close collaboration with the other two units within the department, which consist of the accounting and procurement units.

The Finance Department is a support and control function and is tasked with responsibly and actively supporting managers and operations in various administrations so that they can drive development and take responsibility. The department takes responsibility through professionalism and creates conditions for assessments regarding finance, procurement, and ensures that routines exist and are followed. Furthermore, the Finance Department provides advice and support, leads and coordinates, controls, develops, follows up and analyzes, and works to provide good service to its target group. Good hospitality and high collaboration ability are required to succeed in the position. The Finance Department's mission also includes actively working with the municipality's debt management.

Job Responsibilities

As an economist, you provide support and financial advice to management teams and managers so that they can run their operations based on their goals and assignments. In planning and follow-up, you should also take initiatives and provide support so that the operations can highlight and report any improvements that may be needed. You will provide support and have dialogue with administrations and their managers, elected officials, operations, and the finance manager. On assignment, you may also represent the administration in committees regarding financial issues. You are part of the management groups of the administrations.

To succeed in the position, you must be able to understand the conditions of the operations and the challenges they face and contribute with a financial perspective based on this. Our focus is to support and guide the municipality's administrations, using working methods that promote collaboration and focus on exercising good hospitality. In the position, you have many internal contacts. The work pace is sometimes high and requires you to be structured and have the ability to plan your work. For the success of the unit, both a specific administrative and a municipality-wide perspective are important.

Qualifications

You who are applying have an academic education in economics or equivalent experience. You have at least one year of recent work experience with finance-related tasks such as budgeting and accounting within municipal operations. Knowledge of municipal organization and public operations, as well as experience working in a politically governed organization, is meritorious. You have extensive system experience, preferably with the financial system Unit4ERP, and have good knowledge of Excel. You master Swedish well in both spoken and written form. Experience working as an economist with a focus on social services is an advantage.

As a person, you are driven, independent, attentive, and analytical. You have the ability to see connections, consequences, and intuitively understand what needs to be prioritized, and you are good at meeting deadlines. Furthermore, it is important that you enjoy having many contact points and like to be close to the operations at all levels, as well as having good communication skills. In your role, you are self-sufficient and confident, while also taking initiative and driving development and improvement.
