The Education Department in Gävle is responsible for preschool, primary school, secondary school, and adapted school. We have several lead teachers who work across areas with all staff during recurring conferences and study days. High expectations for both students and staff permeate our operations. We work with collegial learning and systematic analyses and evaluations of our teaching to provide the best opportunities for development for both students and staff. The schools have well-functioning student health teams.

In the red house of Lillhagsskolan, we have preschool class - grade 3 and the after-school centers Doppingen, Svanen, Tärnan, and Viggen. Grades 4-9 and the After-School Club have their premises in the “White House”.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Are you an educator driven by sharing your knowledge and working to ensure that each student feels unique through their own strengths and abilities? Do you enjoy inspiring, leading, and motivating students to achieve good academic results? Great, then this is the job for you!

As a teacher in Swedish/Social Studies for grades 4-6, you will work with planning, teaching, and assessment. You will have class responsibility as well as responsibility for mapping, planning, implementing, and evaluating lessons. The work is carried out according to established goals and guidelines. Your tasks also include mentorship and collaborating with your colleagues to create a good, enjoyable, and varied school day with the students' best interests in focus. You challenge and support students to achieve good academic results and adapt your teaching based on all students' needs and conditions. The work is performed in collaboration with other educators, student health, guardians, and other actors outside the school.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a teaching degree and teaching certification with authorization to teach Swedish/Social Studies for grades 4-6. A prerequisite for the position is that you are familiar with and knowledgeable about the curriculum for primary school and implement this in your daily work. Furthermore, you must be able to express yourself well in the Swedish language in both speech and writing, as this is required in dialogue with colleagues, guardians, and students. You should have good knowledge of and experience working with digital tools, as much of the teaching and planning takes place digitally.

In your collaboration with others, you have a humble approach and the ability to spread calm and stability. You are skilled at leading, motivating, and inspiring students, helping them to develop and feel good. Additionally, you are good at creating an open dialogue and adapting your actions based on the situation. In social contexts, you are proactive, capable of building trusting relationships, and making others feel secure. To succeed in this role, you need to be able to plan and organize your work, prioritize effectively, and use resources well to achieve results.
