Vocational Teacher for Process Operator Training

The Labor Market Administration is responsible for the municipality's activities in adult education, labor market, and integration. The administration employs about 150 staff members in a program that includes approximately 1,200 participants in labor market programs and projects, as well as around 3,000 students in the overall adult education.

Läroviken is Sandviken Municipality's unit for adult education. Läroviken is responsible for education in Swedish for immigrants, Lärvux, basic education, upper secondary education, vocational training, and post-secondary education.

We at Läroviken are now looking for a committed and experienced vocational teacher who is passionate about developing the next generation of process operators.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan, implement, and develop teaching within the process operator profession, focusing on production, machine handling, safety, and quality control.
• Teach both theoretically and practically to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the operator role and industrial processes.
• Lead and guide students in practical moments to develop their skills and provide them with relevant hands-on experience.
• Be responsible for APL coordination, which includes contact with employers, planning of internship periods, and following up on students' development in workplaces.
• Assess and document students' knowledge development, as well as provide continuous feedback to support their learning and goal fulfillment.
• Collaborate with colleagues and industry stakeholders to ensure that the education is updated and adapted to industry needs.
• Contribute to the development of course materials and teaching methods, focusing on linking theory to practice and creating an engaging learning environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Vocational teacher degree or other educational training deemed equivalent, alternatively started vocational teacher training.
• Relevant technical education in industry, production machinery, or equivalent.
• Several years of experience working as a process operator or in a related industry.
• Experience in APL coordination and collaboration with the labor market.

You should have good pedagogical skills and a genuine interest in teaching. You adapt your teaching to the students' needs and prior knowledge, create a safe and motivating learning environment, and convey knowledge clearly and inspiringly.

You are structured and responsible, with the ability to plan, implement, and follow up on teaching systematically. You enjoy collaborating and find it easy to build relationships with both colleagues, students, and external stakeholders.

As a person, you are engaged, responsive, and flexible. You can adapt teaching to changing conditions and find solutions to pedagogical challenges. You see each student's potential and support them in their development, both in school and during APL.
