Responsibilities

As a project manager, you will have extensive contact with employees in core operations, students, and close collaboration with colleagues within your own department as well as other parts of the university administration and the surrounding community.

You will play a crucial role in establishing and maintaining contacts both within Mid Sweden University and with the university's international partners, such as the European University ChallengeEU, as well as external organizations and networks.

The Department of Educational and Research Support coordinates university-wide processes regarding, among other things, Mid Sweden University's participation in the European University ChallengeEU and other national and international projects. The projects are often at the intersection of education, research, and collaboration.

The responsibilities for the employee we are looking for mainly consist of having a central role and responsibility regarding project management and coordination of and within various projects in which the university participates. This can involve everything from coordinating, managing, and administering a project, a work package, or part of a project. The focus is also on providing qualified support for more complex collaborations, both strategically and operationally, where methods and alternative solutions are not always given or defined. This requires the ability to think innovatively, plan, and develop methods. The work requires a strategic perspective as well as the ability to collaborate operationally with various partners.

The work may involve travel nationally and internationally, and a significant portion of the work will also be conducted in English.

The employee we are looking for is expected to be part of the continuous development of the areas they are responsible for, as well as the overall development of the function. Our working method is based on personal responsibility and collegial cooperation, where we support each other.

The department has employees and operations in both Sundsvall and Östersund. The responsibilities for each employee include activities and contacts at both campuses. Travel is included in the work.

Your Background

We are looking for someone who has:

• Relevant academic degree
• Experience working in academia, public, non-profit, or private sector
• Good knowledge of laws and regulations related to the university's operations regarding education, research, and collaboration
• Experience from organizations where anchoring work, responsiveness, and pedagogical ability are essential components of daily work
• Documented experience working in a project- and process-oriented manner
• Good ability to lead collaborative processes and larger projects
• Very good ability to express oneself in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing
• Experience in qualified administrative work or project management, preferably within a university/college

It is also meritorious if you:

• Have a certification in project management
• Have experience in strategic work within the responsibilities of the position
• Have education at the doctoral level
• Have experience in applying for funding from various financiers (EU, research funders, etc.)
• Have experience in international collaboration

Your Qualities

In the role of project manager, you need to be responsible, proactive, and have a very good ability to independently plan, organize, and execute work. You need to be pragmatic and solution-oriented, as well as have a very good ability to meet deadlines. You should also have good communication skills and be able to work independently as well as in a team.

Employment and Start Date

The position is a permanent full-time employment with a start date according to agreement.
