Business Developer for Uppsala Municipality

Do you want to contribute to the continued development of Uppsala, strengthen the business climate, and attract investments? We are looking for a driven and engaged business developer, preferably with experience in real estate issues, who wants to work on getting more companies to establish and expand in Uppsala in collaboration with the business community.

As a business developer, you will be part of the Business and Destination department at the municipal executive office. The department's mission is to create conditions for our local business community and a strong business climate, as well as to increase Uppsala's attractiveness, together with colleagues within the Uppsala municipal group. We work with both strategic and operational efforts to enable new businesses to be created, existing ones to develop, and new operations to be attracted and established in the municipality. Your Mission

Your mission is varied, and in this role, you will collaborate with many different functions and businesses both internally within the municipal group and with external partners. The workday is operational, outward-facing, and proactive, and also includes documentation and administration.

In this role, you will:

• Coordinate and develop collaboration with property owners, especially in commercial real estate, to facilitate business expansion and establishment.
• Ensure a smooth establishment process by being the link between companies and the municipality's expertise in planning, construction, land, and technical supply.
• Identify companies' needs for land, premises, and infrastructure and coordinate the dialogue between companies, property owners, and the municipality.
• Guide companies through the establishment process through coordination, information, and support.
• Improve establishment services by developing effective working methods and analyzing previous cases.
• Support the establishment work administratively through meeting bookings, information compilation, and documentation.
• Contribute broadly to the business work based on the needs of the organization.

As a business developer, you have a central role in building relationships and creating opportunities for the business community. Periodically, evening and weekend work may occur to meet companies and partners at the right times. Varied tasks within business and destination may occur.

Your Background

We are looking for someone who is interested in development and actively wants to work for growth and service together with the business community. You have a relevant university degree, for example, in urban planning, real estate economics, business economics, or property law, or another corresponding field. Documented experience from relevant work in or close to the public sector and experience in collaboration with many different actors and competencies are required for the assignment. The assignment requires a good ability to express oneself verbally and in writing in both Swedish and English.

We prefer that you have work experience in real estate development, land and exploitation issues, urban planning, establishment issues, or similar areas. Experience in strategic and operational collaboration between the public sector, business community, and real estate actors is also desirable.
