The Individual and Family Care in Mönsterås Municipality consists of four units: Adult and Family Law Unit, Assistance Unit, Child, Youth and Foster Care Unit, and Treatment and Support Housing Unit. Each unit has a unit manager who leads and distributes the work. The unit manager is also there for support and guidance in everyday work.

The Adult Group works with issues related to substance abuse and violence in close relationships. We handle the entire process of a case from initiation to implementation. We usually work alone on our cases, but co-handlers may occur after an individual assessment. The work is carried out both at the social office and at the home of the individual.

The Individual and Family Care is now seeking a social worker for the Adult Unit focusing on harmful use and dependency as well as violence in close relationships. As a caseworker with us, you will handle different target groups and cases.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a social worker in the adult unit, you will conduct preliminary assessments and investigations, as well as grant and follow up on interventions for adults with substance abuse problems and their relatives, as well as for adults who are victims of violence in close relationships or who themselves perpetrate violence.

You will handle cases according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Act on Care of Abusers in certain cases (LVM). You will be part of a workgroup consisting of three social workers and will closely collaborate with the treatment unit, financial assistance, and the assistance unit. You will also cooperate with other internal actors as well as external instances such as healthcare and the municipality's housing support. Collaboration also occurs with social workers who work with children and youth. The groups have a close collaboration with the whole family in focus.

There may be threats and violence in the work.

QUALIFICATIONS

• You are a social worker or have another education that the employer assesses as equivalent.
• You have a good ability to understand people's varying living conditions and meet them with respect and sensitivity.
• You find it easy to motivate people to change and work from a salutogenic approach.
• You are responsible and have the ability to work structured and independently.
• You express yourself well in speech and writing.
• You are interested in development within the work area.
• You think it would be stimulating to work in a small municipality with close collaboration and decision-making.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability. Experience in public authority work is an advantage. A driver's license is necessary! We want you to show an extract from the National Police Board's criminal record before a possible employment.
