The Department of Individual and Family Services is divided into two operations; Functional Support and Individual and Family Care (IFO). The department's main mission is based on the Social Services Act and the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons, as well as interventions according to the Health and Medical Services Act. The department is responsible for providing good services in the form of individualized support to the municipality's residents after exercising authority. Kyrkogatan's service housing is a residence with special services according to LSS located in central Nybro. Here, 11 users with different ages and support needs live. The interventions are individually designed and based on implementation plans. The workgroup consists of 9 employees who work according to scheduled working hours during the day, evening, and weekends, as well as on-call. We work based on a low-arousal approach, clarifying pedagogy, and a salutogenic working method.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The work involves supporting users in their daily lives with personal hygiene, meals, care, escorting, active participation in community life, and social interaction. It includes performing delegated tasks such as medication management and rehabilitative interventions. Documentation is maintained in a digital operational system. The support educator role is relatively new within functional support in Nybro Municipality and may thus develop. The position of support educator is part of the workgroup and includes duties as for all staff in the operation.

In the role of support educator, you will support individuals with disabilities to create increased independence, participation, influence, and self-determination. With in-depth knowledge of the target group's varying needs in everyday life, you will become an important resource for developing methods and pedagogical quality. It includes working supportively and applying a pedagogical approach at the individual, group, and organizational levels to create and develop a learning and engaging work climate. You will have additional responsibility for planning, implementing, evaluating, and analyzing the pedagogical work. The assignment will also include coordinating resources, organizing, and planning resources based on the needs of the operation. The assignment includes supporting and coordinating colleagues in establishing and following up the individual implementation plan.

The support educator is part of a team together with a pedagogical supervisor and other support educators who meet regularly to learn from each other, create common goals that lead to competence development for several operations in functional support. The assignment may also include being loaned to other operations as needed to support the pedagogical work.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a care and nursing education or a child and leisure education, as well as relevant post-secondary education such as: support educator training at a vocational college, social pedagogue with a focus on disabilities, teaching degree, social work education, preschool teacher, or leisure educator.

Upon new employment, a criminal record extract must be presented.

We are looking for someone with good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form. A B driver's license is required.
