The Social Services for Children and Youth consists of two child units, three youth units, a foster care unit, and an internal support unit.
The area is led by an area manager. As a substitute administrative assistant, you will work in the internal support unit.
Do you want to work as an administrative assistant?
We are a unit with a focus on development and varied tasks. One of our administrative assistants is going on parental leave, and we are therefore looking for a replacement. As an administrative assistant with us, you have the opportunity to make a difference for children and youth in our district through the administrative support that allows social workers and managers to focus on social work.

Your role as an administrative assistant
As an administrative assistant with us, you will work with administration related to various forms of orders for different permissions, mail and case management, statistical reporting, updating lists and routines, as well as introducing new employees to the administrative routines. Retrieving information from the Migration Agency and checking companies with welfare offenses are other tasks included. The role also involves creating and following up on various types of Excel documents that facilitate the area based on needs.
We prefer that you have a societal interest, a pronounced administrative flair, a sense of service, and the ability to quickly understand different types of systems and assignments within administration. We offer you a workplace with opportunities to develop and learn new things within several different administrative processes. In your daily work, you will collaborate with other administrative assistants in the area.
Your skills and experience
We are looking for someone who has:
- Completed high school diploma
- At least two years of work experience in a similar role within service and administration.
- Good knowledge and experience of handling administrative systems and working in MS Office, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing
It is an advantage if you have:
- Post-secondary education, preferably in economics and administration.
- Experience working in public operations, preferably within social services.
- Experience working with the operational system Paraplyet.
- Experience working with contracts.
- Experience in developing processes and routines.
To function well in this role, you need to be structured and plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively to meet deadlines. Since you will be working independently, you need to be self-driven and take responsibility for your tasks and processes.
As we constantly work to develop our support according to the area's needs, you need to be flexible and easily adapt to changing circumstances or tasks and see opportunities in changes. In this role, you will have many contacts and a good ability to collaborate with others.
