Teacher for Introduction Program

School Description

Riksäpplet is a high school beautifully located by the Rudan outdoor area. It is directly adjacent to the Handen commuter train station. Starting in the fall of 2021, Riksäpplet houses Haninge's introduction programs: Language Introduction, Individual Alternative, and Vocational Introduction. We also have an adapted high school with about thirty students distributed across national and individual programs. In total, we have around 375 students enrolled in our programs.

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for a teacher in Swedish as a second language and religious studies. You will work in our introduction programs. All students have an individual study plan with high goals, which places great demands on your teaching in terms of quality, pace, and ability to support students' subject and language development simultaneously. You also need to be able to create trusting relationships with the students. Regular teacher duties such as planning, conducting lessons, and follow-up work are of course included in the position.

Qualifications

You must have qualifications and a teaching license for Swedish as a second language for grade 9 and religious studies for grade 9. Other subject qualifications are meritorious.

Excellent knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, is a requirement.

You have experience working with students in introduction programs, which means you need to be flexible, creative, proactive, and persistent, with the student's needs always at the center.

You have experience working interdisciplinary in a team with a holistic view of the student's learning. The job requires very good collaboration skills with your colleagues in the team.
