The Individual and Family Care consists of two units: the Adult Unit and the Child and Family Unit. The units include authority exercise and open care.

The Child and Family Unit works with authority exercise and offers open interventions for children and young people aged 0-20. Here, social workers have different responsibilities for reception, investigation, and follow-up, family law, foster homes, first social worker, and family and network therapists within our open care. As a Family and Network Therapist, you will be part of our open care team, the Family Team, with various experiences and competencies.

Job Description

We start from the specific needs of children and young people in close collaboration with their families and other networks based on a systemic approach. You will work with family and network therapeutic interventions, which means that the work is directed at one or more family members and the network surrounding the child or young person. The support aims to strengthen the family's and network's resources and is carried out in accordance with the child's or young person's needs. An important part of the work is collaboration with our partners. As part of our development work, you will help develop cross-professional work partly across the operational area but also together with external partners such as schools. This means that working groups with different competencies will be created to ensure interventions from a holistic perspective.

As a Family and Network Therapist in the Family Team, you work based on assignments from social services and provide support to children, young people, and their families in challenging life situations. You will also work with non-assistance assessed interventions both at the individual and group level. The work takes place both individually and in collaboration with colleagues to adapt interventions according to the families' needs. You will be responsible for planning and implementing the interventions in accordance with the purpose and goals of the assignment or intervention. When you work in the Family Team, you are part of a working group that together takes responsibility for the whole.

Qualifications

Requirements: You must have an academic degree in social work or behavioral science, such as a social worker, behavioral scientist, occupational therapist, or equivalent education deemed adequate by the employer. We also want you to have several years of experience in psychosocial change work with children, young people, and families.

A driver's license is required for the position.

Meritorious:

  • Experience working primarily with cognitive variations and evidence-based methods based on the target group.
  • Experience and knowledge of working with mental health issues, domestic violence, trauma, and children and young people with norm-breaking behavior.
  • Previous experience working in social services and good documentation skills.
  • Training in evidence-based methods within family treatment, parenting support, methods directed directly at children and young people.
  • Training in systems theory and having worked in a network-oriented manner.

You are professional in your role, concerned about good treatment, and good at creating and maintaining relationships. You can work independently and drive processes forward while being a team player. You should have knowledge of child development and keep the child perspective in focus. The work places high demands on flexibility, collaboration skills, and innovation. You should be interested in participating in the ongoing development process within the unit and in the transition to the new social services act. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability and that you can complement our team.
