Trappan is part of the Social Administration in Uppsala Municipality, Department for Children and Youth Interventions. At Trappan, we offer group activities with age-divided groups for children aged 7-20, for children who are relatives in families where parents have problems with alcohol or drugs, mental health issues, or conflict-ridden separations.

Trappan also offers individual counseling support for children from 5 years old who have experienced violence in the family. This target group is also offered some parental support.

At Trappan, we have 6 employees and a manager who shares with other units in the building.

Your Mission

The main tasks at Trappan are to lead children and youth groups and to have individual conversations with children, young people, and parents. The groups are scheduled for late afternoons and evenings, which means that you need to be prepared to work one or two late evenings a week.

The work also includes outreach and lecturing about the operations to spread knowledge about children as relatives. Trappan collaborates with other professionals who meet children and families. Some documentation is involved.

Your Background

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work and experience in treatment work with children, young people, and their families. Proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written, is required.

It is advantageous if you have:

• systemic theoretical training
• training in violence in close relationships
• training in Signs of Safety
• basic psychotherapy, step 1.

As a person, you have a good empathetic ability and can quickly understand someone else's perspective or situation. You have the ability to see the whole picture and view issues from a broader perspective. Furthermore, you are good at creating, maintaining, and developing professional relationships. Additionally, you have good collaboration skills and relate to others in a responsive and smooth manner.
