Treatment Pedagogue at SiS LVM Home Hornö

The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial problems and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse across the country. Working with us at SiS will be an exciting challenge. SiS LVM Home Hornö receives men with alcohol, drug, or mixed substance abuse. We accept men with mental health issues and men with aggressive behavior. We are tasked with providing care for clients with special care needs.

Job Description

Do you want to be part of creating life-changing transformations for vulnerable people? Then the job as a treatment pedagogue at SiS is a meaningful challenge. As a treatment pedagogue, you work in a team together with treatment assistants, group leaders, and treatment coordinators, and together you are responsible for ensuring that the clients living with us receive the security, care, and treatment they need. We often meet people in crisis, which means you work with qualified care and motivational work and provide support in daily life. With the support of your knowledge in care and treatment work, you actively contribute to the fulfillment of treatment plans. Documentation is an important part of your work and contributes to legal security, planning, and follow-up of our operations. You monitor and maintain safety assessments and contribute to ensuring that safety at the institution is upheld according to procedures. Case management may be one of your tasks. The work as a treatment pedagogue also involves helping to ensure that the daily operations on the unit run smoothly, including general daily living, cleaning, laundry, cooking, etc. Client trips may occur in the position. Treatment elements may also be part of the job.

The work may also include mentoring new employees and interns. This is a job for you who see a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in difficult life situations. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

The working hours are daytime.

Qualifications

To succeed in your work, you have a solid positive view of people. You are motivated to help people in vulnerable life situations and share SiS's values of being a place for change. Furthermore, you have a good ability to create engagement and participation among our clients. As a person, you are self-assured, self-driven, and proactive, and you find it easy to build relationships with clients as well as with others in the staff group. You have good communication skills and can maintain your calm even in stressful situations. You find it easy to collaborate with others and can handle conflicts constructively.

You should also have:

  • A degree from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) with a focus on social/pedagogical treatment work or education from a university that we assess as equivalent
  • A valid driver's license (B)
  • Good Swedish language skills in both spoken and written form

Meritorious:

  • Experience in performing treatment elements
  • Experience with medication delegation

Employment:

The position is a fixed-term employment until December 31, 2025.
