The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements secure youth care. We do this in youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse across the country. Working with us at SiS will be an exciting challenge. SiS LVM Home Hornö receives men with alcohol, drug, or mixed substance abuse. We accept men with mental health issues and men with aggressive behavior. We are tasked with providing care for clients with special care needs.

Job Description

Take the opportunity to try an interesting job as a treatment assistant at SiS. The position is a part-time employment during spring and autumn and a summer substitute during the summer.

The goal of your assignment is to motivate our clients to new and less risky ways of living. As a treatment assistant, you will help ensure that the routines in the department function as they should. You play a significant role in the stability and safety of our clients, and you are responsible for the foundation of daily life, such as cleaning and cooking, among other tasks. You will contribute to maintaining safety in the institution according to our routines. Documentation is an important part of your work. You will work on building good treatment relationships and contribute to ensuring that our clients receive the safety and security they need to break old habits. Together with your team of dedicated colleagues, such as treatment pedagogues and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Working hours are according to a schedule including days, evenings, and weekends.

As a summer substitute at SiS, you will undergo a tailored introductory training to prepare you for your assignment.

Qualifications

You should have:

  • Completed upper secondary education
  • Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., work in psychiatry or in LSS care
  • Driving license B
  • Good Swedish language skills in speech and writing

Meritorious:

  • Degree from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) with a focus on social/pedagogical treatment work or a degree from a university that we consider equivalent.

Your personal suitability is key to life-changing transformations. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of people, great empathetic ability, and the ability to create good treatment relationships. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in stressful situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and are happy to share your knowledge with colleagues.

Employment

The position is a fixed-term employment from 2025-06-16 to 2025-08-10 or according to other agreements and part-time employment during spring and autumn.

Introduction will take place before this period.
