At the turn of the year 2025, we opened the doors to our newly established Neurology Department within the acute and medicine care area at the Hospital in Ystad. We aim to build an operation characterized by safety, stability, and quality for both patients and employees. As part of this work, we focus on competence and quality development through initiatives such as WebbSku Stroke Competence Training and the National Stroke Registry and micro-training.

Our primary patient group consists of adult patients suffering from neurological symptoms and diseases such as stroke, TIA, epilepsy, Guillain-Barré, Parkinson's disease, among others. Patients come to us from the emergency department and acute care unit for further investigation and treatment. In the long term, we are working to once again be able to receive patients for thrombolysis treatment for acute stroke directly in our department.

The Hospital in Ystad is an emergency hospital with 24/7 operations and a wide range of specialized elective care. We offer healthcare characterized by quality, accessibility, a holistic view, and care. As a medium-sized hospital, Ystad is distinguished by short decision-making paths and proximity to other operational areas.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In your role, you will work with the care and treatment of patients over 18 years old with neurological diagnoses. Here, you will work in interdisciplinary teams with nursing colleagues, nursing assistants, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, social workers, dietitians, speech therapists, medical secretaries, and doctors. You will encounter patients with varying degrees of complexity, treatment times, and acute conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. Additionally, you have language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe's level scale. Previous work with neurological patients is an advantage.
