Make a Difference. Every Day.
Do you want to work in an exciting environment and gain unique skills in highly specialized care? Then you could be our next colleague, warmly welcome to us!
We belong to the thoracic and vascular area at Skåne University Hospital (Sus). In the vascular area, there are three units; Vascular Surgery, the inpatient department Vascular Ward, and Vascular Outpatient Clinic. We provide both vascular surgical and vascular medical care for patients with various types of vascular diseases. Additionally, we are responsible for vascular care in the southwestern and central healthcare districts in Skåne and for the highly specialized treatment of vascular diseases in the entire southern healthcare region. Although we are specialized and at the forefront, we are a smaller area, which contributes to short decision-making paths and trust in each other.
The Vascular Surgery unit is in constant development and is one of Sweden's leading units in the field. We perform endovascular surgeries for aortic aneurysms, interventions for stenoses in both the carotid artery and other major vascular trunks, thrombolysis, and sclerotherapy, among others. Since early February, we have been located in building 35 in completely new premises where we have two hybrid operating rooms and two angiography rooms with the latest equipment.
The staffing is multidisciplinary, consisting of radiology nurses, operating room nurses, general nurses, and nursing assistants who work together with both vascular surgeons and interventional radiologists. Additionally, we have a close collaboration with the other units in the vascular area.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
We are looking for a nursing colleague for our department! Here you will find a pleasant workplace with good opportunities to develop in your profession.
As a nurse with us, you will work in a high-tech environment where you, regardless of specialty, alternate between assisting in various procedures in a sterile environment and being the responsible nurse for patients. This includes monitoring patients, medication management, handling medical technology equipment, and materials during procedures.
We believe that responsiveness, trust, and individual development within the team, along with high competence and safe care, are prerequisites for a pleasant and secure work environment! Therefore, we focus on trust-based leadership, as well as on introduction and further education. As a new employee, you will receive an individually tailored introduction program that includes extensive shadowing and the opportunity for internships in areas of interest within vascular care. Many of our staff have extensive experience and solid competence in the field that they are happy to share.
The working hours are scheduled during the day but with on-call duties one weekday evening/night per week and every fifth weekend. The on-call duty means that you start from home and must be able to reach the workplace within 30 minutes if needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
We welcome you who are a licensed nurse, operating room nurse, or radiology nurse with permission to work in Swedish healthcare. You have language skills in Swedish at least equivalent to level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale. Previous work experience as a nurse is a requirement for the position. Experience from similar operations is advantageous.
As a person, you feel secure in your professional role, enjoy working in a team, and find it easy to communicate. Since we have both elective and emergency operations, it is important that you thrive in an environment that requires flexibility and can handle rapid prioritizations in your work. You are open, responsive, and collaborate well with other staff members and contribute to a good working atmosphere. We place great importance on professional collaboration where your professional competence, ability to cooperate, approach, adherence to values, and attitude towards work are important.
In this recruitment, ongoing selection is applied. We warmly welcome your application today!
