The Dermatology Clinic at Helsingborg Hospital investigates and treats various skin diseases and skin tumors and is part of the area of dermatology, ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology, and in Region Skåne, dermatological care is provided within the care choice system (LOV). In addition to healthcare within the care choice system, we conduct medical education, specialist training, research, and consultancy during the day for inpatients at Helsingborg Hospital.

The unit is fully equipped with operating rooms for all dermatological surgery, full-body photography, hyperhidrosis, bucky, PDT, light, venous ulcer, and bath treatments, as well as STI clinics. We currently have about 10 doctors employed, with a fairly even distribution of senior consultants, specialists, and resident doctors. Here you will find several different professional categories, and we value good collaboration between the groups.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The work consists of common tasks for resident doctors, with outpatient work in all areas within the specialty. Traditionally, the clinic has a strong interest and expertise in skin surgery and skin tumors. In addition to specialist training, we conduct medical education at the unit and regularly have resident doctors from other specialties observing.

We have trained a larger number of resident doctors in recent years and have good experience of the process required to grow from early resident doctor to newly qualified specialist. The specialist training includes a number of mandatory courses within the country and 6-12 months of side service within and outside the specialty, where commuting to Lund/Malmö is required.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you who are a licensed physician with the authority to work within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s level scale are a requirement. Completion of Swedish AT or BT is meritorious. We value previous experience in hospital-affiliated dermatology in general and similar activities in particular. Previous experience in minor surgery, outpatient work, and supervision of students in similar situations is meritorious.
