Make a difference. Every day.
The Lung Section is a unit within the Specialized Medicine 2 area. The Lung Section consists of an inpatient department with 21 beds shared with gastroenterology and a combined allergy and lung clinic. We treat and investigate all types of pulmonary diseases, including oncological ones. In the clinic, we also perform minor surgical procedures such as pleural taps and thoracic drain insertions, bronchoscopy, and EBUS. Currently, the Lung Section employs specialists in internal medicine and pulmonary medicine, as well as a specialist in oncology focused on lung cancer and ST doctors.
Our allergy services are based on a well-established and effective collaboration between doctors and nurses. We have three specially interested nurses and a well-functioning nurse-led asthma-COPD clinic. The unit also includes a dietitian. In addition to skin-related issues, we investigate all allergic questions. We perform skin prick tests, spirometry, aridol tests, and drug and food provocations. We have a large number of patients undergoing allergen-specific immunotherapy (AIT), including both SCIT and SLIT, as well as a significant number of patients with severe asthma and biological treatment.
The operation is characterized by diversity and high competence, and we strive to integrate research and education into our work. We actively work to create an organization focused on leadership, high quality, patient safety, work environment, and employee engagement. Our core values within the section are empathy, diversity, expertise in pulmonary medicine, and teamwork!
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
We are now looking for a specialist in allergy who wants to lead and develop the work within the section. As a specialist doctor/consultant, you will primarily work in the clinic. Your role also includes reviewing referrals and consultations with other units in the hospital and primary care. You will work together with allergy nurses in an allergy team, and you will have close collaboration in the investigation, follow-up, and treatment of your allergy patients. You are expected to make assessments and guide as well as be present when SCIT is ongoing at our allergy clinic.
Mentoring junior colleagues at various levels and medical students is part of your daily work, as well as close collaboration with other professions.
Together with your colleagues, you will develop the content of care, and there are good opportunities for personal professional development. Our ambition is to conduct research in both allergy and both non-malignant and malignant lung diseases in the future. If you have research ambitions, it is very possible to combine clinical service with research.
QUALIFICATIONS
We welcome you as a licensed physician with permission to practice within Swedish healthcare and with specialist competence in allergy. For the position, proficiency in Swedish at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale is required. It is advantageous if you speak more languages than Swedish to better meet our patients who may have different backgrounds. If you have dual specialization in, for example, pulmonary medicine or another internal medicine branch, this is also advantageous.
In your professional role, you are accustomed to investigating all types of allergies and treating them according to the latest recommendations. If you have a doctorate, experience in teaching, and academic research work, this is considered an advantage for the position.
You have good communication skills in both speech and writing, and you are used to and enjoy working in teams. You are structured, take initiative, and we hope that you, just like us, enjoy challenges and are positive and see opportunities instead of obstacles! We place great importance on your personal qualities.

In this recruitment, we are working with ongoing selection. We warmly welcome your application today!
