The habilitation reception for children and youth 1 addresses children and young people up to 17 years old with permanent disabilities and their families. The children and young people who come to us may have movement disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and/or intellectual disabilities. The reception also specializes in the diagnosis of spina bifida.

Our operations are based on interdisciplinary child- and family-centered work, which means that the child and their relatives have full participation in the planning and evaluation of interventions. Our unit has about 27 employees from various professional groups including nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, psychologists, social workers, dietitians, doctors, leisure consultants, special educators, receptionists, medical secretaries, and unit managers.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

At the habilitation reception for children and youth 1 in Malmö, you will have the opportunity to work in a stimulating workplace with high competence and a good conversational climate. Within the unit, we have a strong team spirit and support each other. We are now welcoming an occupational therapist colleague to join our team. Four occupational therapists work in our unit.

In your role as an occupational therapist, you will increase the ability to participate based on the individual needs by analyzing and providing advice and support regarding daily activities. A large part of the work involves guiding children and young people and their networks to create change in the child's or young person's everyday life. You will offer individual interventions as needed and according to the habilitation plan made in consultation with the family, the child or young person, and others in the team around the child/young person.

Assessing needs, prescribing, and testing technical aids, as well as participating in housing adaptations, also constitute a significant part of the work. The work is outward-facing and involves collaboration with other organizations such as preschools, schools, child clinics, assistive technology services, orthopedic technology services, social services, and more. In addition to direct patient work, administrative tasks such as patient booking and record management are included. Your responsibilities also include structuring and organizing the work independently and together with the rest of the team.

The working hours are during the day; Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday between 08:00 and 16:30, Tuesday between 08:00 and 18:30, and Friday between 08:00 and 14:30. As a new employee, you will receive an introduction and guidance from an experienced occupational therapist colleague, who will support you during your initial time with us.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a licensed occupational therapist with permission to practice within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe's level scale are required. We also prefer that you are familiar with various IT systems and have had digital healthcare contacts. Previous experience in habilitation work, working with children and/or young people with disabilities, or otherwise working with people with disabilities is also an advantage.

As a person, you find it easy to collaborate and initiate contact with children and young people. You also believe, just like us, that it is important for children and young people to be heard and that their views are taken into account. You have an independent approach, are flexible, and have the ability to handle situations when the pace is sometimes high. Furthermore, you have a good ability to organize and structure your work. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability for the position.
