Make a difference. Every day.
Are you looking for your next challenge where you can grow in your role as a nurse? Are you passionate about good service and want to be part of the development of the business together with us? Then this is the position for you. Welcome to the orthopedic department in Ängelholm!
The orthopedic business area (VO) is located at Helsingborg Hospital and Ängelholm Hospital. The operation in Ängelholm runs an elective care ward and an outpatient clinic. The outpatient clinic is solely focused on orthopedics with traditional outpatient work regarding pre- and post-operative visits as well as admissions for knee, hip, and spine surgeries. The orthopedic operation in Ängelholm consists of approximately 45 employees who strive to be at the forefront of care development and patient care. We work closely together in teams where all professional categories contribute their expertise to ensure and maintain the medical and nursing needs of each patient. We are a workgroup with a positive climate, where new and experienced employees with broad expertise and strong development ambitions create good opportunities for knowledge exchange.
In our workplace, we want to create working methods that benefit both patients and employees. We believe that a good working environment, personal commitment, and room for development create safe and patient-centered care. Our care philosophy is based on "rapid recovery" and Orem's nursing theory, focusing on person-centered care and the patient's self-care resources in a supportive care environment. Here in Ängelholm, we feel a strong sense of community and take advantage of the benefits of a small hospital.
Do you want to be part of a cohesive and development-oriented workplace? Then this could be the position for you!
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a nurse in our ward, you will work with pre- and post-operative care focusing on the healthy based on Orem's nursing theory. You will actively work in paired care primarily with nursing assistants and physiotherapists to minimize complications and provide patients with the security and self-help needed to return home. The position also includes outpatient work with telephone advice, your own nurse's clinic, and preparatory visits before surgery. We believe in the patient's ability to recover and take an active and supportive role. For the patient, this means intensive training with the support of staff leading to rapid recovery. Our average length of stay is short at 1.1 days, meaning most patients are discharged within one to two days.
We care about you as a new employee and want you to thrive with us and settle into your role in the best way possible. You will be offered an individually tailored introduction based on your previous experiences, competencies, and wishes. Within the orthopedic business area, there are opportunities for internal training. After two years of experience in orthopedics, there is an opportunity for clinical specialization training. Working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, and nights. Currently, weekend work is not included.
We offer you:
- A workplace with a strong team spirit, where you are supported by engaged and competent colleagues.
- A manageable care load and short lengths of stay.
- A varied and educational job where you gain broad medical experience. We primarily care for elective patients in orthopedics, gynecology, and urology, while relieving acute care by receiving often discharge-ready orthopedic patients from our sister ward in Helsingborg. This way, we contribute to a smoother patient flow and a more sustainable care chain.
- A trust-based leadership where you have the opportunity to influence, participate, and grow with responsibility in your role.
- A working environment where collaboration and engagement are central, and where you as an employee have an active role in the development of the business.
- Support and conditions for continuous professional development, so you can grow both in your current role and in the long term.
QUALIFICATIONS
We welcome you who are a licensed nurse with authorization to practice within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's level scale are a requirement.
If you have experience working in orthopedics, it is an asset, as well as if you have experience in urology, gynecology, and surgical areas. We work based on Orem's nursing theory, and it is therefore a natural part of the job to apply this in your daily care of patients.
In elective care, the pace of work can vary; therefore, this is a position for you who are flexible and have a good ability to prioritize tasks. We see great value in you having a curious attitude and being eager to learn from your colleagues as well as contributing your own knowledge. The ward and the outpatient clinic work closely together, so it is important that you enjoy collaborating with others. Furthermore, we see that you, like us, put the patient first and are interested in, as well as want to participate in, change efforts and development of the unit. We are keen to find the right people for our position and therefore place great importance on personal suitability.
In this recruitment, we apply continuous selection. We warmly welcome your application today!
