With us, we work with the patient in focus and handle advanced medical technology in an efficient, tailored, and well-developed operation. Our operations conduct highly specialized surgery in colorectal and upper gastrointestinal diseases. The reason may be an oncological diagnosis but also acute surgical diagnoses that require a shorter hospital stay. Currently, we have 18 beds, but our goal is to grow a little more.

In our unit, we actively work on improvement efforts and want to be part of the development of care both within our unit and our area of operation (VO). Here, knowledgeable and engaged employees from different professions work together, and our goal is to provide person-centered and value-creating care to our patients together. As an employee, you can be the nursing responsible nurse and participate in nursing rounds where we focus on the patient. This is an exciting job that provides the best conditions for our patients.

To assist us in the teams, we have, among others, service hosts, receptionists, stoma responsible nursing assistants, dietitians, community coordinating nursing assistants, staffing assistants, administrators with managerial support assignments, and placement coordinators. We work in newly renovated and fresh premises with modern technology. All our patients stay in single rooms with their own toilet and shower.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We now welcome two nurses to our VO surgery in Helsingborg.

For us, it is of utmost importance that you feel comfortable and welcome in your role as a nurse. We work in a cross-professional team consisting of nursing assistants, doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and supply pharmacists as relief regarding certain medication management. We also have a close collaboration with the pain team at Helsingborg Hospital.

In the role of nurse with us, you will care for patients with varying needs. Medical technical care, central access, pain management (PCEA, PCA), nutritional probes, and wound treatment with negative pressure treatment are parts of your work. Mobilizing patients is an important part of our care, in which we take help from physiotherapists.

As a new employee, you will receive an introduction with guidance tailored just for you. We have experienced nurses in the department who are happy to share their expertise and experience and support you in your new workplace. Region Skåne also has a mandatory introduction program for newly graduated nurses. Here you will have the opportunity to strengthen yourself in your new professional role with clinical skills training and theoretical lectures. There is also an opportunity to take a specialist education in surgery that provides 60 higher education credits at half-time over two years.

The position involves rotating work during the day, evening, and night. The number of night shifts affects the weekly working hours. Weekend work is included, two out of five weekends.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you who are a licensed nurse with the authority to work within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s level scale is a requirement. It is advantageous if you have specialist training in surgery and/or experience of similar tasks.
