The pediatric medicine department (VO) has about 700 employees and is part of Skåne University Hospital (Sus). We treat children and adolescents aged 0 to 18 years with diseases in specialized areas from a holistic perspective, including medical, nursing, psychological, social, special educational, and humanitarian aspects. Our operations are conducted in both Lund and Malmö and have a close collaboration with Lund University. We work according to the United Nations (UN) Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Nordic Association for the Needs of Sick Children (NOBAB) standards.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We welcome an assistant chief physician or chief physician in pediatric medicine in Lund with a focus on pediatric nephrology!

You will participate in the daily work and in the tasks relevant to the specialty. You will work partly in pediatric nephrology day care and outpatient clinics, partly with inpatients, and participate in pediatric nephrology consultation services with surrounding specialties. In addition, on-call duties within the pediatric nephrology on-call line are included. The work is partly within the framework of National Highly Specialized Care (NHV) for rare kidney diseases.

In your role, you actively participate as a supervisor for less experienced colleagues and in the education of students. You will have the opportunity to work in a modern work environment with a positive team spirit and good opportunities for research and development within the entire organization. The work is team-based and occurs in collaboration with many other medical specialties and healthcare professions. Within the position, there is room to conduct research where research time is funded by external grants.

QUALIFICATIONS

For the position of assistant chief physician, you must be a licensed physician with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare and have:

  • specialist competence in pediatric medicine
  • language skills in Swedish at least equivalent to level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale
  • completed or planned course in clinical supervision
  • full-time service of at least three years (documented effective time)
  • clinical skill and independence in pediatric nephrology
  • completed or planned clinical supervisor training
  • documented teaching and supervision merits.

Disputation and/or specialist examination can be credited for a total of six months of clinical service.

For employment as a chief physician, in addition to the above requirements for assistant chief physician, full-time service of at least five years (documented effective time) and a disputation are also required.

You have previous experience working in highly specialized pediatric nephrology care, including dialysis treatment and have experience and familiarity with pre-, peri-, and postoperative care related to kidney transplantation, including transplantation investigations. Previous research experience in pediatric nephrology and current research is considered meritorious for the position.

As a person, you are responsible, have an ethical approach, and an interest in development and research. You value, and have a very good ability to work in teams with colleagues from different professional categories. In your work, you strive for an open and good working climate. For us, it is important to have a professional approach to both patients and colleagues. Personal suitability is an important factor, as the role requires both a professional approach to patients and a good ability to adapt to the team-based operations.

At a university hospital unit, it is required that physicians have pedagogical experience and education. You may have acquired this through supervision of, for example, nursing and medical students as well as physicians in training and as co- or main supervisors of doctoral students. Clearly describe in your application completed or planned pedagogical courses, experience in supervision and teaching at different levels.

When you submit your application, you must fill out the questionnaire, which must be completed and correctly filled out. You also need to attach your documents digitally; see under Other what documents you need to send. For us to assess your application, it must be complete.

Extracts from the criminal record and suspicion register will be conducted before any employment.

In this recruitment, we apply continuous selection. We warmly welcome your application!
