Make a Difference. Every Day.

We look forward to welcoming four midwives for combined positions with us! This means you will work in two of three units within the area of interest and engagement.

The Women’s Health Care Unit (VO) at Skåne University Hospital (Sus) has approximately 800 employees and is one of the country's leading teaching units with proud traditions in obstetric and gynecological care. The unit also conducts exciting research and development activities. Within the obstetrics area, there are delivery wards, maternity wards, home maternity care, specialist maternity care, and ultrasound services in both Lund and Malmö.

With us, we strive to develop, and you will play an important role by inspiring and initiating improvement efforts. We all work together towards the operational goals and for the good care of our patients. As a new colleague with us, you will receive an individually tailored introduction and be offered continuous professional development.

RESPONSIBILITIES

At Home Maternity in Lund, we work family-centered and strive for individualized care based on the family's needs. We conduct home visits by car or electric bicycle. The work also includes telephone counseling and follow-up visits. As a midwife with us, you will have the opportunity to make a significant difference for the new family. Your main tasks will consist of breastfeeding counseling, information, and support regarding the first time with a newborn. Additionally, checks and sampling on the child, such as bilirubin check, hearing test, and PKU, as well as assessment of any delivery injuries, are included.

We who work in the maternity ward in Lund are midwives, nurses, nursing assistants, and doctors in a team around the patient. In the unit, we work with both the complicated and the normal processes surrounding pregnancy and postpartum care. Additionally, we take care of those who are to give birth by planned cesarean section and pregnant women starting labor induction. You will be offered an interesting and stimulating job where you have good opportunities to further develop within obstetrics. We have 24 care places, of which 8 places are for pregnant women with complications and 16 places are for those who have given birth with complications or whose children are cared for in the neonatal department.

The specialist maternity care consists of several specialist clinics such as scheduled and acute specialist maternity care clinics, ultrasound, blood flow, and social work. Pregnant women with complications during pregnancy and those at increased risk of complications come to the clinic. Among other things, blood flow examinations and ultrasounds are performed to monitor how the pregnancy develops for both the mother and the child. In the role of midwife at the specialist maternity care clinic, you will work at the acute obstetric clinic where pregnant patients with acute complications are taken care of. The acute obstetric clinic is part of the specialist maternity care clinic. Pregnant patients who are referred and need to be monitored beyond standard maternity care come to the clinic. We offer a responsible and varied job where you will work both independently and in a team with doctors and nursing assistants.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you who are a licensed midwife with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale are required. Work experience in maternity care and/or maternity wards is meritorious for the position.

We are looking for someone who can contribute energy and joy to our unit and who has a great interest in development, learning, and women’s health care. You see the value of good collaboration and contribute to this by sharing your knowledge and experience. Your commitment and positive attitude contribute to a good work climate, where we all help each other and collaborate to achieve the best care quality for our patients. Changes often occur in our daily work, and being able to adapt to these and adjust to a new situation requires skills such as overview, planning, and structure. Personal suitability is highly valued.

Before any employment, a check against the suspicion and criminal record register will be conducted.

In this recruitment, continuous selection is applied. We warmly welcome your application today!
