The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (Bup) in Skåne is characterized by an ongoing improvement process to develop the care and support we wish to provide to our patients. Here, as a junior doctor, you have an important mission to contribute with your perspective and competence. Much is about listening and being present - here you will use all your skills in meeting each young person and quickly build alliances to meet the child where they are.

We at the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry reception in Trelleborg are a reception with 31 committed employees consisting of doctors, nurses, psychologists, social workers, secretaries, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists. In addition, we have junior doctors, psychology assistants, and other students at our reception.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for a junior doctor for a fixed-term employment of six months, with the possibility of extension. The position is located at the reception in Trelleborg/Malmö.

In your role as a junior doctor with us, you will work with assessment, diagnosis, and treatment together with a dedicated interdisciplinary team. Your tasks will also include prescribing medications and certificates. You will work both individually and in a team and collaborate around the patient with care neighbors and other partners, such as schools and social services.

We offer supervision from specialist doctors and other colleagues, weekly treatment conferences, and continuous medical meetings. There are good opportunities for a ST position if the applicant has a Swedish medical license and performs well in the job. We primarily work individually with our patients, but the team is available as a resource. The broad competence of the employees is used to best match the challenges of children and families. We have many patients in need of our help and receive requests primarily from Social Services, En väg In, Första linjen, schools, and health centers.

As a new employee, your employment will begin with an introduction where you, together with the team coordinator, work at the reception to get to know the operations, colleagues, and our guidelines in the best possible way. During the introduction, you will have an experienced mentor who provides you with support and advice in your learning to help you feel secure in your new role.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed doctor or have a medical degree with the authority to work within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale are a requirement for the position. Previous experience working with children and families is considered an advantage. Similarly, if you have prior experience in psychiatric operations.

To succeed in this role, you are an engaged, communicative, and stable person who dares to take your own initiatives. It is important that you focus on the best interests of the patient and that you thrive in a varied everyday life. We value flexibility and good collaboration skills, the ability to work both independently and in a team, and of course, you have an interest in the target group. If you also have previous experience working with children and youth, this is seen as an advantage. We are keen to find the right person for the role, so great importance will be placed on personal suitability.
