The radiological activities in Region Örebro County are located at Örebro University Hospital, Karlskoga Hospital, and Lindesberg Hospital. The mission of the Radiology Clinic is to participate in the patient's investigation, treatment, and screening through imaging diagnostics and intervention, aiming for patients to receive correct management and treatment. The clinic also has a mission to strengthen and develop research and participate in education.

The county clinic has a well-equipped machine park with everything from fluoroscopy and conventional X-ray to MRI and PET/CT as well as SPECT/CT. There is also rapid development on the machine side, where a cyclotron will be installed in the near future. We have recently installed a dedicated research MRI scanner.

The area of radiology and hospital physics has a close collaboration within the radiology activities across the region's three hospitals - Örebro University Hospital, Karlskoga Hospital, and Lindesberg Hospital. Radiology performs imaging diagnostics and intervention and participates in the patient's investigation, treatment, and screening. We perform approximately 250,000 examinations per year and constitute an important part of medical diagnostics. We actively work to develop research in the field of radiology. Hospital physics has activities in radiation therapy, X-ray diagnostics, and nuclear medicine, and we work with radiation protection and actively participate in research conducted at Örebro University Hospital.

Örebro University Hospital (USÖ) is one of the county's three acute hospitals where we conduct advanced healthcare, research, and education. In both 2020 and 2019, USÖ received the prestigious award for Best University Hospital from the newspaper Dagens Medicin. USÖ won the most significant category of medical quality, had the best results in the categories of accessibility, economy, as well as the category of avoiding pressure ulcers and overcrowding. USÖ also tops the results in the areas of heart, kidney failure, and vascular surgery. USÖ has about 3,500 employees. ST Physician Radiology Clinic

Job Responsibilities

Your ST training includes all activities at the clinic. The work varies from hands-on intervention such as nephrostomies, drain insertions, biopsies, and fluoroscopy to work with image interpretation and rounds. All work is done in close contact with colleagues and other staff. Images and diagnoses are constantly discussed together.

The Radiology Clinic operates in Örebro, Lindesberg, and Karlskoga. Your primary placement is in Örebro, but as an ST physician, you should be prepared to work at all locations. All physicians in radiology are part of the on-call and standby lines. We have an external provider for night shifts.

In Örebro and Lindesberg, the doctors are organized into specialties; skeleton, gastro, neuro, thorax, nuclear medicine, and mammography. In Karlskoga, the doctors work with most common examinations.

Qualifications

Licensed physician with at least one year of experience in radiology at the ST level. We require a corresponding C1 level in Swedish.
