The psychiatric care department 1 has 14 beds and is located at Karlahuset in Örebro, conveniently close to the city center, as well as bus and train connections.

We are a wonderful team of about 35 employees consisting of nurses and nursing assistants. We primarily care for patients with psychotic disorders and work closely with the outpatient team of the psychiatric care department that is also located in the building. We also collaborate closely with other psychiatric care departments in the region and with social psychiatry in the municipalities.

Job Responsibilities

As a nurse, you have a leading role and are responsible for the psychiatric care of inpatients together with other professionals. You participate in rounds and perform standard nursing tasks such as medication management, assessments, and documentation. Your responsibilities also include support conversations with patients as well as contact and coordination with other care providers, municipalities, and relatives. We place great importance on conversations with our patients and teamwork with other professionals in the department, as psychiatric care is based on collaboration and participation.

You play a key role in the ongoing development and change work of the organization to ensure a more person-centered care and a developing and good working environment. As a new employee with us, you will receive a good introduction.

Qualifications

Licensed nurse or specialist nurse with a focus on psychiatry. Experience in psychiatry is an advantage. We are looking for someone who enjoys working closely with patients, who has the patient's best interests in mind, who has the ability to tailor care according to the patient's needs, and who takes a holistic perspective, seeing both the patient and their relatives in their life situation.

The work in the department is based on commitment, responsiveness, a positive attitude, and a good collegial community, which requires collaboration skills and social competence. Teamwork is fundamental to the work.
