Care Assistant at Askenäs Special Housing for the Elderly
Are you a driven care assistant with a strong commitment to people? Do you enjoy going the extra mile for our residents? Now you have the chance to become part of our wonderful team at Askenäs Special Housing for the Elderly!
About the Position
In February, we will finally open the doors to our renovated departments, and therefore we need to strengthen our staff across the entire facility. You will belong to a department focused on either somatic care or cognitive impairment, but we support each other across departmental boundaries.
Currently, we are about 25 employees working together with our residents, but we aim to grow! We work closely in collaboration between care assistants, nurses, occupational therapists, and unit managers. As a care assistant with us, you will play a central role in creating quality and safe care for our residents.
It is important for us to create a meaningful and enriched everyday life for the residents. We do this through activities such as chair exercises, bingo, or walks. Therefore, we believe that you, as an applicant, have an interest and willingness to further develop this together with us.
We strive to constantly develop and improve, especially now that we will implement new working methods with the reopening. We welcome you to contribute new ideas and perspectives. With us, you have the opportunity to share your expertise and be part of the exciting development at Askenäs!
Examples of Job Responsibilities:
- provide service and personal care based on the individual needs and goals of the resident
- build trusting relationships with residents and their relatives
- perform medical, rehabilitative, and habilitative tasks as well as medication management based on delegation
- as a contact person, be responsible for the individual care process together with the workgroup and the resident
About the Workplace
Askenäs is one of Örebro Municipality's smaller special housing facilities for the elderly, creating a sense of homeliness for both our residents and us who work here. Our facility is located in Odensbacken, about 30 kilometers east of Örebro. On weekdays, there are good bus connections, but on weekends, it helps if you can drive to us. We also collaborate with Kvismaren and Hjälmaren home care, where we cover each other's services when needed, so you may occasionally work there as well.
Currently, a thorough renovation of existing premises and the construction of a brand new building is underway. In February, the renovation and new construction will be completed, and when our new residents move in, we will have four departments with a total of 36 apartments. The outdoor environment is also being renewed to facilitate outdoor activities, which will bring great joy to both employees and residents when completed. Welcome to be part of our pleasant operation and wonderful workgroup!
