Student Assistant for the Financial Stability Department

We are now looking for a student assistant for the Financial Stability Department for the autumn of 2025. The recruitment is supported by the Agreement on Terms for Fixed-Term Employment as a Student Assistant.

The department is responsible for the Swedish National Debt Office's work to counteract risks of serious disruptions in the financial system. This responsibility includes managing banks and central counterparties in crisis, known as the resolution mandate. We are also responsible for the government deposit guarantee and investor protection. We work to ensure that financial companies in crisis are managed in a stability-preserving and cost-effective manner for the state, without burdening taxpayers. As the responsible party for the deposit guarantee, the department also plays a central role in consumer protection in the financial market. A large part of the department's ongoing operations involves planning and maintaining preparedness for future crises. The department also participates in international work within its areas of responsibility. The department currently consists of just over 25 people.

We Offer You

A developing and exciting environment where financial stability is the focus, with knowledgeable and engaged colleagues and the opportunity to expand your knowledge of the financial market. The main tasks consist of preparing materials for the ongoing work in the department and reviewing banks' reporting of data. You will also perform some administrative tasks. Contacts with the Financial Supervisory Authority or the Riksbank as well as various international bodies, as well as with the financial industry, may occur.

The position as a student assistant entails a fixed-term part-time employment supported by the Agreement on Terms for Fixed-Term Employment as a Student Assistant. You can work a maximum of ten hours a week alongside your studies.

Your Profile

Based on the nature of the position and the applicability of the agreement, we are looking for someone who:

  • Is studying a master’s program with a focus on economics, business administration, financial economics, or a corresponding relevant field.
  • Has at least 180 approved higher education credits and has a year left until the master's degree.
  • Has not started a doctoral program.

It is advantageous if you have previous experience working with resolution regulations, good knowledge of Excel, experience handling large data sets, and work experience from the financial market.

As a person, you are self-driven and have an easy time planning, organizing, and prioritizing your work. You are responsible, meticulous, and persistent while maintaining an analytical approach. You have good collaboration skills and express yourself well in both Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.

We will place great emphasis on your personal qualities.

It is important that employees' impartiality cannot be questioned, thereby undermining trust in the operations of the National Debt Office. Therefore, as an employee, you must report both your secondary employment and your holdings of securities. You need to apply for permission for transactions in credit institutions, such as the purchase of bank shares, before trading occurs.
