Fenix Cultural and Knowledge Center is looking for a teacher in technology

Fenix Cultural and Knowledge Center is a small school with close relationships between teachers and students. We have about 330 high school students and roughly the same number of students in adult education. We offer 10 different national high school programs as well as an introductory program. The latest figures show that we have good results regarding the number of students with a high school diploma and eligibility for higher education. The closeness is something our students often value highly, the closeness to management, the closeness to teachers, and the closeness to other students at the school. At our school, we work in longer lesson periods, allowing students to delve deeper into their subjects before it’s time to finish, something that is greatly appreciated. We put the student’s learning at the center and actively work to develop our teaching.

The school is centrally located by Hjortsjön in Vaggeryd. It is close to train and bus. Bus 500 frequently runs from Jönköping or Värnamo, and the bus stops very close to the school.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for an engaged teacher who wants to work in a team with other programs. The position includes teaching courses in the technology program at the high school and some teaching in the Industrial Technology program. The high school collaborates a lot with adult education, so a part of the position may be directed towards adult education, primarily in industry. The position also includes mentorship for high school students.

For the past two years, we have been working with ÄDK (subject didactic collegium), which means that we continuously develop our teaching together with subject colleagues. We discuss, test, and evaluate to constantly increase students' goal fulfillment.

We also place great importance on value-based work, creating relationships with students, and being part of educating students to become good citizens.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a qualified teacher in technology. If you also have knowledge in mathematics, construction, and CAD, it is an advantage. We also see that you have experience working in the industry.

We expect you to have students' learning in focus and a desire to contribute to increased goal fulfillment. You are a secure leader in the classroom and actively work with students' knowledge acquisition both on an individual and group level.

You find it easy to collaborate and create good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues at the school. Furthermore, you are driven, engaged, and want to be part of developing the organization.
