We are looking for social workers/behavioral scientists or social educators with higher vocational education credits
About our organization
Nytida Villa Lerhamn is a treatment home for young girls, aged 14-18, with mental health issues and self-harming behavior. Villa Lerhamn is located in Nyhamnsläge on the Kullahalvön peninsula in Höganäs municipality. Here, the girls live in a home-like environment that provides a solid foundation for their treatment. We are specialists in DBT and work with several different methods that are CBT-oriented. The goal is to create sustainable changes. Through our specialist competence, we can carefully support and treat the youth around the clock. We accept placements according to both SoL and LVU.
About the position
We offer you an exciting job with varied tasks where you can grow in your role as a therapist. Our girls receive comprehensive treatment with individual therapy and skills training. Between sessions, all members of the workgroup coach the girls in skills. In addition to DBT, we work to empower the youth to become independent individuals with good prospects for moving forward in life. This includes supporting them to get started with school or find an internship, as well as establishing routines in daily life such as cleaning, laundry, and cooking.
As an applicant, you will gain good knowledge of DBT skills and the opportunity to develop in your role as a DBT therapist with support from colleagues, managers, and external supervision.
As a therapist with us, you will work in a team with a DBT therapist, unit manager, and other therapists based on DBT as a treatment method. It is required that you adhere to DBT as a method in both your working style and attitude. You are expected to contribute to a validating environment where your approach is based on a dialectical conversation style.
In your work, you need to be prepared to handle difficult situations, such as meeting our youth when they are highly emotional. You need to manage situations where, for example, a youth has self-harmed or is acting out verbally. You should be able to handle stressful situations and have the courage to set boundaries and be consistent in your work with our youth even during difficult times.
The work is a team effort, but you also need to feel comfortable working independently. You will work with case management, which means you are responsible for one or more youth. The job includes collaborating with their families/networks, social workers, and other stakeholders. To ensure that assignments and goals are met, we work systematically with implementation plans in the treatment work. Together with your youth, you are responsible for establishing and following up on the individual implementation plan. Therefore, you need to be well-acquainted with documenting and working systematically with follow-up and quality. The job also includes maintaining daily routines and structure such as cleaning, cooking, picking up and dropping off youth, etc.
Working hours include daytime, evening, on-call shifts, and weekends.
A driver's license is required.
Requirements and merits
We see that you have relevant education, social educator or social worker/behavioral scientist. It is advantageous if you have training in our method. You have preferably worked in a similar role; previous experience is a merit.
You have high integrity, are professional and respectful in your approach. You experience joy in your work, have self-distance and humor, and enjoy variations in work intensity from a calmer daily routine mixed with high tempo focused on solutions.
Your qualifications
To work with us, you should have a genuine interest in working with people, you should easily create trusting relationships while being able to set boundaries. You should inspire trust and be clear in your adult role while actively working to support the individual in maintaining functioning routines and meaningful leisure time. As a treatment assistant, you are responsible for contributing to creating a safe and developing environment with clear structure and predictability.
As a person, you are engaged and responsible with the ability to work independently as well as in a team. Your working style is characterized by high flexibility with a great ability to unpretentiously let go of established structures to find new paths. You have a warm and open approach when meeting both colleagues and residents while being clear and decisive.
Warm welcome with your application to us
