At the Swedish Migration Agency, we work with one of the major societal issues of our time – migration. We are approximately 6,000 people here, and we have a uniquely important job!

As a system developer for the agency's master data concerning individuals, you will have a challenging role in an agency where IT is a high priority.

Main tasks and desired personal qualities:

We are looking for a system developer who is passionate about creating sustainable solutions for our operations and good user experiences for our target groups. You are expected to be quality-conscious and eager to understand the data you work with. Additionally, self-leadership, curiosity, and a desire to learn are required. You need to be interested in continuously discussing and evaluating your own and others' ideas and challenges. It is important that you can communicate your knowledge, questions, and results with stakeholders and colleagues. We value teams that have a high degree of autonomy, can work with modern technologies and methods, and continuously deliver value to our users. We work with agile methods and focus on automation while moving towards a loosely coupled, event-driven architecture. Furthermore, we are now implementing a modern, cloud-native platform based on Kubernetes and Docker.

You will, together with your new colleagues:

  • Design, build, and maintain advanced systems for managing data related to individuals involved in or subject to cases at the Swedish Migration Agency
  • Develop processes for seamless integration of personal data from various sources to ensure consistency and reliability
  • Implement robust security measures to protect sensitive information and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
  • Create technical conditions for continuous delivery
  • Test your and others' solutions as a natural part of the system development process
  • Contact and collaborate with the team's target groups, administration, and operations and support organization
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in data management and continuously seek opportunities for system improvements and innovations

You who are applying have:

  • Relevant education in IT, or equivalent competence combined with several years of work experience
  • Extensive and multi-year experience as a system developer within a complex system landscape
  • Good communication skills and can express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish and English
  • Multi-year experience in developing microservices in a microservices architecture
  • Experience with Event Streaming (Kafka).

Preferred experience includes:

  • Experience with container platforms (Kubernetes/Docker).
  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery.
  • Experience in system development within a master data area.
  • Experience in frontend development, e.g., React.
  • Experience with databases (SQL).
  • Experience with REST.
  • Experience working with test-driven development and test automation.
  • Experience with Java or another programming language

As the position will be placed in a security class, Swedish citizenship is also required. A security review with a background check will be conducted prior to employment.
