Social Worker for Children and Youth in Enskede-Årsta-Vantör

Stockholm – our capital city with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone living here today and in the future. We are now looking for someone who wants to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.

Do you want to work with young people and their families in a dynamic and developing environment? Are you motivated by making a difference in assessing children and young people's needs for protection and support?

We are now looking for a dedicated social worker for one of our investigation units within Children and Youth at the Enskede-Årsta-Vantör district administration!

About us

We are one of Stockholm's 11 district administrations and have our office in the Slakthus area near Globen.

The Department of Individual and Family consists of four areas, one of which is Children and Youth - Reception, Investigation, and Family Law Southeast. This area is responsible for providing support and interventions to children, young people, and their families through several specialized units.

With us, you will meet knowledgeable and engaged colleagues, experienced and present managers, and a culture where we support and develop each other. We have about 89 employees, including 72 social workers, 8 unit managers, 3 mentors, 4 administrators, 1 business developer, and 1 area manager. We believe in working systematically, focusing on the best interests of the child, and always striving to improve our working methods.

About the role

As a social worker with us, you will have a meaningful assignment where you:

  • Investigate and follow up on interventions according to SoL and LVU.
  • Work closely with young people, families, and their networks to create sustainable solutions.
  • Use evidence-based methods and assessment tools such as iRisk, SAVRY, and ADAD.
  • Contribute to the unit's development through experience exchange and reflection.

We value good and equitable treatment in all contacts and actively work to be a learning organization where we together create a safe and professional work environment.

Your skills and experience

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a degree in social work.
  • Has a genuine interest in investigative work.
  • Sees networking as an obvious part of successful social work.
  • Has a very good ability to express yourself in Swedish in both speech and writing, which is important for communication and documentation in the role.

It is an advantage if you have experience in authority work concerning children and youth. Knowledge of methods such as iRisk, SAVRY, ADAD, and Signs of Safety, as well as good knowledge of social legislation, is also advantageous.

To thrive, we believe that you:

  • Are an empathetic person
  • Have good communication skills and an interest in helping people
  • Can converse and listen to people's needs
  • Are good at collaborating and making decisions that may sometimes be difficult
  • Are calm, stable, and controlled in stressful situations.
  • Are structured, meaning you plan and organize your work effectively

Great importance is placed on your personality and ability to work both independently and in a team.

We offer

  • A well-thought-out introduction with mentoring support.
  • A developing workplace with engaged colleagues and managers.
  • Wellness allowance of 3,000 SEK/year and access to a gym in the building.
  • Flexible working hours with winter and summer working time and the possibility of vacation exchange.

How to apply

We have removed the personal letter to focus on your skills and experiences. Instead, you will answer a few questions as part of your application. Before employment becomes relevant, an extract from the criminal record will be requested.

We look forward to hearing from you!

The City of Stockholm works with competency-based recruitment aimed at recognizing each person's competence and thereby counteracting discrimination.

Enskede Årsta Vantör is one of 11 district administrations in the City of Stockholm.
